You can walk for 10 km or more along the east side of Lake Wanaka. We went to Eely Point and further on to Beacon Point. The views continue to change throughout the walk with beach areas, rocky areas, grassy areas along the various bays. There are also seating areas in local parks which you pass through. You will share the path with cyclists, but you can also walk along the waterfront for more solitude. We ended up spending about 3 hours walking and checking out the sights. read more
