i was 19 when i mistakenly went to this foot butcher . My feet are ruined for life and i went to the wrong person. Save a lifetime of pain and ruined bones in ur feet. im 46 now n have suffered worse my whole life then when i had bunions. he fuse my second toe joint and i there was nothing even wrong with these toes. he did this surgery wide awake with dremel took on both feet blood spatter n 100 needles in each foot. my aunt watched in horror i had no idea what to expect im surprised i still have feet after this. he over drilled bone toecthe root n left me with bad feet. dont go here please. he us crazy n needs to be stopped. i was young n had no idea what i was doing but listen to ur gut dont. I was desperate at the time and u was thankful for his help due to financial situation and foot pain/disfigured feet and wanted the problem fixed. he is good for general help but has no business doing in office bone surgery While awake. it is unfathomable to think as an adult now that this man is doing such surgeries and needs to refer out to specislists. The absolute worst experience of my life from start to finish. I wish I would have checked these yelp reviews before. I only checked the google reviews and found no bad ones. The office is so old and run down. There is ZERO professionalism from the doctor himself to the entire staff. I'm still unsure of what type of "surgery" I had? He claimed to have removed a corn from my toe but why use a dremel device to shave the bone in my toe for corn removal!?? The actual surgery situation was so bizarre. 5 shots of lidocaine were stabbed in to my foot which was then proceeded by the dremeling of my bone while I was completely awake and watching. It was terrible and I was completely uninformed of how invasive a procedure I was in for. After the procedure I asked for an itemized statement and was told they wouldn't have one until after insurance was billed. I didn't argue bc I was ready to get the heck out of there! My follow-up appointment was no better. He removed my bandage, looked at my foot for a split second and proceeded to replace the bandage on my betadine covered foot from surgery. I politely asked if he could clean up my foot before re-bandaging so he handed my husband the peroxide and gauze and told him to do it. Husband cleaned me up and re-bandaged me! We will not be going back for any further follow-up appointments. read more

My first and only appointment with Dr. Cohan. My feet have been really hurting with neuropathy type pain for several months so Tricare referred me to his office. First of all I've been in the medical field for years and do have quite a bit of medical knowledge especially enough to know when a doctor has no business practicing medicine. The tech was very helpful he xrayed both of my feet and performed a nerve conduction test. When the doctor came in I expected him to take a look at the X-rays and the conduction tests that were lying on the table in the exam room. He didn't look at anything he just asked me where it hurt and turned around and grabbed a syringe drew up a dose of lidocaine and turned back around and injected me in both feet. He didn't say a word, he didn't explain anything he then just left the room and came back with a package or orthopedic insoles and said try these they are 50.00 and your insurance won't pay for them. He then said see you in two weeks and turned around and left. The tech came back into the room and I gave him a piece of my mind and he went and got the doctor. I asked the doctor about my tests and the shot and all he said they were fine and he was sorry he didn't explain things very well did he. I told him no he sure didn't and why was he injecting my feet with lidocaine when it will just wear off and my feet will continue to hurt? He repaid he also injected me with an anti-inflammatory but that was not true I watched him draw it up. This man should not be practicing medicine at 71 years old he is obviously burnt out after 41 years and needs to retire. The whole building including the exam rooms are filthy dirty. The doctor looks like he just woke up out of bed and his clothes are dirty looking. I don't know why the health department hasn't shut him down. I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Read these reviews. The only thing this podiatrist does is inject Sarapin (useless) shots (at $60 a pop!) regardless of what your complaint is. Really a waste of time and money and adds on charges for services not rendered. Go to a reputable podiatrist and get a real diagnosis with real treatment. read more

I have been a insulin dependent diabetic for 40 years and now experiencing problems with stability and neuropathic pain. Edward Cohen MD quickly scheduled me in and did a thorough exam with x-ray and neuropathy tests. He found foot fungus, arthritis and bone spurs on both ankles. 1st visit, he gave shots into both ankles, put braces on both feet and setup follow-ups. I came out of his office with such relief, NO Pain and stability I had not seen in years. He is a Medical Doctor ( M.D.) who handles all problems with the feet, including surgery if needed. I will graciously wait in his office to see him, as many other doctor office's. HE is well worth waiting for and in great demand. My diabetic team rate Edward Cohen MD with 5 Gold Stars; I give him a ( 10 ) the absolute best. read more

Waited an hour and twenty minutes PAST my appointment time to see the doctor. He was in and out of the room 3 times for about 20 seconds each time, never really got an in-depth discussion of the problems for which I was coming to see him. I began describing pain in my foot, he quickly looked at the x-ray but never showed or went over it with me, and suggested a shot in my foot. I was in the process of denying, explaining that shots in my foot before had never worked, and -bam, needle was in and out before I finished speaking!- No bedside manner at all, felt more like a farm animal being processed! And I just got the EOB, that little shot was deemed "surgery" and my share is $130! AND it didn't help! Waste of time and money, just go to your trusted family physician... read more

I had a botched surgery by a podiatrist considered one of the best in the area. I hesistated to go to another podiatrist for fear my foot would only get worse. I was advised against going to see Dr. Cohen. I am glad I did not listen to these people. Their complaints had to do with the appearance of the office and the amount of people. The office is indeed crowded but clean. Having been in the medical profession myself, I made it a point to speak to every patient there. Every single person said they had seen an improvement and were complimentary. I decided to stay and I consider this a good decision. Dr. Cohen may appear a bit grumpy at first but he has a lot of clients. He is always busy but once in a while you can get him to laugh and it is easy to realize his demeanor may be covering up a good personality. The important issue, of course, is my foot which was deformed and painful. Dr. Cohen did an excellent job in fixing my foot. Everyone including my Doctor, was impressed and had expressd that she did not think that foot could be fixed. Dr, Cohen has his own way of doing things but it works for him and works for his patients. Thank you, Dr. Cohen. You are one of a kind but that is a good thing. read more

i have bunions on both feet. but have been afraid to have surgery cause of my aunt was not able to walk for months after surgery. she had it done in hospital and had pins and all. but i learned that dr cohen could do bunionectomy with out the pins. so i bucked up and had my right radical bunionectomy on 4/22/22. i was able to walk out of the office with walking boot, no cruches . the worse problem is very minor (you can not get the foot wet for few weeks cause no stitches). but i think that is worth it and having to wear a very unfashionable surgical shoe. i am patiently waiting for this one to heel enough that dr cohen will do my left on. i was given antibotics and pain medication. but i should of saved my money on the pain pills because i have not needed the pain meds. i have only been doing extra strength tylonal. i returned to work on monday 4/25/22 which is even better. if any one is considering bunion surgery i highly recommend dr.cohen. thank you dr.cohen denise r read more

My appt was at 1030, he didn't arrive in the clinic till 1145. He never identified himself, met my eyes, did not explain the diagnosis or treatment options, grabbed a can of freeze and with one hand sprayed my foot instep and jabbed a shot into my foot before I could react. I almost kicked him in the face. I have never been treated so rudely in my life and he wanted a followup appt in 3 weeks? I don't think so. How does this idiot keep his license? Receptionist would not pass me to a nurse and actually laughed at me when I asked if they offered a lateral cambered insole. She repeated that they had thick and thin insoles. Upon walking into Dr. Cohen's office for the first time, it was more than obvious the lady at the front desk (Judith) is, without a doubt, over worked! Which is why the wait is too long in his office. It takes a blind man to see the disgruntled look that shrouds his workers face that they are under paid and not happy, which should never be an excuse for being unprofessional. If we are to appreciate people who help run our business, we must reward them with the proper respect and pay! Dr. Cohen has to get more involved with his patients and his staff. Very unprofessional office in Gautier, MS. At this office they lied to me about what my insurance would pay. i.e. deductible and what was covered! When I called the Gulfport office about filing the claim they lied to me again. They told me that I had to file the claim, another lie! They are one of my insurance company's preferred providers! Something I will speak to my insurance about! I had to pay the total bill the same day I had the service, another lie, they should have filed the claim with my insurance and I would pay the difference. When I called them about never receiving a claim from my insurance, I was told they filed it with medicare. The day I was seen I told them that I did not have medicare and that the claim had to go to my insurance company, here again, the little girl in the insurance section for the doctor and the doctor's helper at Gautier office, lied!!! Again the little girl in Gulfport lied, because she said she filed it with medicare and that she would file it again with my insurance company, another lie! She never did file a claim the first go around, at all, NEVER! Do not go to this doctor, ever! Also the doctor never really did explain what he was going to do or how. Two of his assistance came into my room looking for paper work on another patient and I told them that they were scaring me because they couldn't keep up with what was going on. i took a family member to this mans office - while we were there he treated a man in the parking lot-parking lot-isnt that illegal? we finally go in a room all he cared about was if the deductable on the insurance had been met & how much they would pay for something that is called a gauntlet-that was not in any way needed nor was that even why we were there. the staff kelly, gail, robin, & amber were great the were awesome. amber stayed & explained what a gauntlet was to us and told us what is was used for (isnt that what the dr should do), she even explained what the injections was in my heel. wow i never thought that i would say this about any dr but the fact that his employee(s) acted more like the dr than the dr did was mind blowing. he never onced explained anything to us or even told us what he was doing and why. just came in looked at the chart asked where it hurt and stabbed a needle of god knows what into my foot. im tellling all that read this run-run-run-run all he wants is that money from your insurance. read more
