They also help out in classes often, know all kids very well, and hold town-halls frequently to stay even more connected with the parents. I also like their portal where I can easily email and manage payments etc. 2) Top quality facility: Center is bright, CLEAN, and overall an inviting environment for kids to play and learn in. They just installed brand new wooden floors (2017) which is an added bonus. Outdoor play area is also very well-organized and clean. 3) Curriculum based learning: In toddler class, they have a 'theme' each month/week and kids learn from story time, art, and fun activities. For example, if the theme is 'camping' for the week, kids will learn about 'camping' by setting up tents indoors, making smores/pretend campfire, singing and dancing to songs, making art with fall leaves, and of course reading stories. They also keep rotating toys and books to stimulate kids and stay up to date with current learnings. 4) Warm caring teachers: Since the infant class to now toddler class, we've had many amazing teachers who would open up their arms to my daughter when we come in the morning, diligently snap nice photos throughout the day and send thru tadpole app, along with very descriptive real-time status update (i.e. 'went potty', 'had XYZ snack', 'applied sunscreen', etc.), and share daily anecdotes when we pick her up.

I would highly recommend this as a first daycare option--she welcomes children up until they move on to Pre-K or Kindergarten. Along the way, we've also met such wonderful families and friends through this experience. If you're looking for an interactive, safe, and enriching environment for your child, definitely check out Miss Yelena's.

Before finding Mrs. Yelena we visited multiple day care centers, we never liked the place, the people or simply we did not feel comfortable with the setting. (As first time parents we were nervous). When we first visited Mrs. Yelena we knew, we knew right away, we had found a place where our daughter could play, learn and grow. It felt like, and it is for our daughter, a home away from home. The small group really allows Mrs. Yelena to focus on the kids and their growth, our daughter, learned to clean up after herself, snack time and sharing, gave up the diaper, started napping (she only naps during the week, not on weekends), playing with other kids, climbing, painting, snow, new songs, English! She started singing all out and expressing herself in so many creative new ways. Every so often you meet people that have found their calling, when you meet Mrs. Yelena you can tell she is doing what she loves to do. She is a great educator, with so much warmth and kindness. Every single day the kids are playing with something new to stimulate a new sense, or new songs, or planting trees. A beautiful place and environment for kids to grow in. I highly recommend Mrs. Yelena's Educational place in West Hartford and Mrs. Yelena, if anything everyone who cares about their kids should visit her place to see what a loving and nurturing environment looks like.

The school is well run, with clear guidelines and expectations for everyone, families and staff alike. Here are some selling points for me and they may be for you, too: * diversity (racial and economic) * secure buildings * plenty of outdoor time * predictable schedule for kids * quality staff oversight * frequent communication from administration (in person and via mobile app) * art, literacy woven into social and physical activities * utilize Trinity College students for extra support in classrooms (students always have plenty of attention) * kind teachers, who really care I would highly recommend TC4 to any parent looking for childcare. Just take a tour and I'm sure you'll be sold.

Mary Lou, Jackie, and Sharon are nurturing, attentive care givers for my three year old daughter (who has been with them since she was four months old) and now to our ten month old who has been attending for the last four months. Our oldest child absolutely loves going to school -- she misses it on holiday breaks and the weekends because she enjoys the craft times, reading books, helping to decorate the playroom or do other chores, and playing outside with her friends. At three, she can spell her name, recognizes letters and numbers, has an impressive vocabulary, can independently dress and take care of herself, and has better manners than kids far older. And as much as I would like to say we can take credit for it, I know so much of it is due to the care and personal attention she has received from Tiny Tot. Mary Lou, Jackie, and Sharon clearly love their jobs and these kids, who truly have become part of the family. They are firm with the kids never stern, and they insist that the older kids learn to help themselves as soon as possible. Our little one is so well cared for. For the babies, they rock and play with them, have circle time, and sing songs and practice movement. The holidays are so much fun at Tiny Tots -- they spend so much of their time decorating, practicing songs, creating crafts, etc. Just last week my toddler made a little stocking to hang on a mantle Jackie created and they spent time decorating a Christmas tree with colorful ornaments. My toddler cannot wait to tell me all about her day's experiences when I pick her up from school. Mary Lou and Jackie take pride in their facility and their professionalism. They openly communicate with parents and are upfront about any concerns or issues. I could not recommend them more.

The director and the teachers truly love their job. Prior to Covid, I was able to come into the center and nurse my baby. I saw firsthand how well the infant teachers handled their kids. They were all held and attended to as if they were their own. We now have two kids in this center. Their Covid precautions are strict, but we feel safe and clean here. My toddler son is learning so much at the discovery preschool level, much more than I would have been able to expose him to. It truly is like a play based school before school. Only cons are high teacher turnover, but this is common in other daycares from what I hear.

I witness on 3 different occasions a less than ideal tone used with my toddler. I also witness him being off on his own on one occasion very sad. I asked him what was wrong and he said he felt alone because the kid had taken a toy from him. Meanwhile the teacher was on his cell phone (Seen a lot of that when picking up my toddler). At 1st I didn't say anything as I am overprotective of my child, but his other parent went to stop by mid day with some lunch and over heard the teacher using that same tone. Immediately we had a group meeting and the teacher apologized and stated that she was a bit stressed due to a behavioral health child acting out in class, and she took it out on my toddler and the other children, I am still wondering what that had to do with my child?!?? Or why this teacher wasn't given some assistance. I also asked how many times does this happen, as the director continued to use the behavioral child as an excuse to the behavior of the staff. My child was removed immediately. Nothing is worth my child's well being. These teachers and directors need to meet these children where they are. If they are in need or talking you should bend down to their eye level to console them or understand them so you can assist them with care. My son said he was scared to go into the school on his 2nd day. I assumed he was hesitant with a new place and would adjust. I was wrong!!!!! I feel like I also failed my choke because if I had listens to him after day 1, I should have save him the exposure of mental, emotional and verbal abuse!!! i beg any parent that loves their child not to drop them off at Scott swamp RX in Farmington ct.
