We went for a weekend climb and wandern at the Rax and based at this establishment. They offer…read morerooms and they were clean, reasonably priced and encountered no problems. So I would recommend to anyone who is considering staying in the area. They have a lake right next to them and its brilliant. Its quiet, even though next to a road and surrounding is very beautiful. Would I stay again there? Yes!
Lets say you're not staying there but passing by. The restaurant was brilliant. The kitchen definitely is up to their claimed standards by a few here. I would also recommend like Corinne regarding the seasonal specialties. We enjoyed the erschwammerl gulasch the first night and it was excellently prepared. I had a hard time believing it was without meat! The next day I tried a Förster Pfandl and was blown away. Perhaps I was extremely hungry after a whole day of climbing and walking around, but the meal was brilliant. They definitely seem to pay attention to the material used in their kitchen and everything tasted very fresh and deserves 5 out of 5 stars.
Staff was friendly and nice. There was a triathlon going on Saturday so it took a bit of time to order for the next round of drinks but still thats acceptable in a sense. The only thing that seemed a bit odd, considering we were staying at their motel, was their breakfast. After such great meals, I had the idea their breakfasts would also be breath taking. Except for the fresh weckerls and breads, the breakfast was boring, dull and had nothing special about it. They provided with 10 blocks of butter, 1 nutella and a dozen jams that just tasted industrially produced. Plus if you wanted another one, they would struggle to find or offer it. It seemed they were limited with stocks or something. Either way, I would not recommend stopping here for breakfast. Focus on their lunch offers and a nice dinner with friends or partner.
A place where "Mahlzeit" is given its true worth!
