It was almost as if secretly grandma came over and prepared a home-made meal. Nothing of the meal felt pre-prepared, was just "ausgezeichnet"! The wines were not convincing so I had beers but if you're in the area and someone suggests this Italian place don't say no. Enjoy it and go with the recommendations. Someone there knows their stuff. I saw lots of ppl carrying out and dining in. For dinner, my husband and I split a large margherita pizza and an insalata jolly (house salad, I think). The salad here is amazing and very large! It was huge, had delicious chunks of cheese and the balsamic dressing was spot on. And I'm not normally a fan of olives but the olives in the salad were full of pungent olive flavor, without being too salty. Salad was fantastic and I was digging it. Unfortunately, the pizza was not as good. The crust was perfect, slightly charred, thin and crunchy. What was bad was that the margherita pizza had way too much tomato sauce (which was too salty) and the fresh mozzarella cheese was wet. It was clearly put on the pizza after it was already finished in the oven. In fact the mozzarella cheese was so wet that it even slid off our slices of pizza. Also word to the wise, the large pizza is really large for two people esp after the big salad. No worries, we took it home and ate leftovers for breakfast the next day =)

We would have liked at least an ok glass of wine to go with our meal, but all the options were bad. They'd do well to offer at least one, say, simple Chianti. Service was slow too. There were only two tables and it took over 30 mi utes to get our pizza.

The soup had a perfect flavor and creamy texture with crispy bread crumbs dipped in the soup. The pizza had good amount and veggies and was very filling. During my second visit I had Onion soup which was again fantastic, it was a thin textured soup with perfect onion flavor and a cheese smeared bread dipped in it. And also I had a vegetarian pasta which was good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any vegetarian visiting Filzmoos.
