Eden contracted a company to build an enclosed deck for my elderly parents last fall. It was fine for a few months and then the roof boards started falling off. Emails and phone messages left for the business went unanswered. This project cost thousands of dollars and the company was quick to demand payment, and then, when I complained, totally ignored me. I am disgusted with the poor customer service and the company's refusal to even acknowledge that the company they contracted did not know what the heck they were doing. Signed up for the Eden Service and received a confirmation email from them December 7, 2018. On January 20th, I measured 8 cm of snow on my driveway. Eden advertises that the will send a contractor to clear to snow at 5cm. No one arrived. I contacted one of their representatives to ask what happened. They stated that we weren't signed up for the service. I provided their confirmation email. They said "Sorry, we'll get you next time". I inquired how could I trust their service after the first blunder. They said "We'll do better next time" and I received the second confirmation email about being enrolled in the service. When I stated that I should receive a credit for the next service I received no response. I then asked to cancel the service. read more

UPDATE: The company refunded my money after I contacted them through their answering service. I ended up bringing a few family members and shovelling the snow myself. ORIGINAL POST: The service was delayed by a week, which was understandable for the first 3 days due to weather etc. but ridiculous after that. Communication was terrible with the company and their contractor. The driver showed up overnight, took pictures of work that others had done to compensate for their having showed up late, and drove off without doing any plowing whatsoever. I have reached out to the company (for about the 7th time in as many days) but haven't had a resolution yet. In the meantime, their contractor has billed me the full amount and they're sitting on my credit card. read more

The snow removal service is non existent. we called director of operations in January. Still waiting for a reply even though it says she responds personally. during the huge snowstorm it took them four days to come! lasteat snowfall the contractor failed to clear the whole driveway even though there were no cars. Good service company, It was easy to signup for their snow-removal services, as I was looking for a company 'last minute' this winter season, it only took a msg on Yelp, a representative called me right away to discuss details. Their business model is different, they basically sign up a client on a day-to-day bases, no contracts or terms required. Based on the house size, a price $$ per visit is set. In a snowy day, at 2 inches or higher, this company sends out your "job" with your address details to different companies/vendors they deal with. Depending on availability and interested, a vendor would accept this "job" and simply shows up and complete the snow removal at your house! All this is communicated via automated text messaging, advising you that your job has been assigned, accepted and completed. BRILLIANT model! Pros: * Very easy to signup, one phone call and the snow removal company showed up within few hours. * Day-to-day charge, so you don't have to deal with a big $$ payment right at the start. * Convenience of charging your credit card, automatically AFTER the job has been completed * You're fully updated by the process of the job, as in (assigned, accepted, completed) * You don't have to worry about calling them every time it snows, you're automatically enrolled. For cancelation, you have to call and cancel your service. Cons: * Since the vendor completing your snow removal assigned can be a different company each time depending on who's available and who's accepting your job, the quality changes accordingly based on that. Sometimes you get a perfect A+ job, while some other days you get a mediocre/bad job done. * If we get a bad winter season with a lot of snowy days, this service would get a little expensive and might be a better shot to go with a contractor. read more

I have been using this service in the past several years and have been very satisfied with the service. However my last few experiences have been terrible and it seems that they no longer care about the level of service. i use them primarily when we get larger accumulations of snow. Lately even if your call is picked up, after waiting for a promised window of service the call gets dropped, the service does not get delivered and even if it does it is poor quality. Their app is very misleading from a price perspective. I requested snow removal for my laneway, it quoted $55 but charged me $125. I contacted them and went back and forth on a few emails only to be told they don't give quotes for on demand service, the charge is $75 and they plowed the walkway. The charge was $125 and the walkway had already been shovelled! He stopped responding at that point. Buyer beware! read more

I tried to book this several times, I needed a simple snow plow for my sidewalk and front steps. 3 times they kept telling me my credit card didn't go through. There was no number or contact info to reach them to tell them that in fact their charge had gone through and was pending. When I was finally texted that the job was going through, it was completed, no one sent me photos of the job which surpriseed me. How do you know if they have done it? Looking at my house camera, it doesn't look like it. I'm baffled by this company, a quick photo to show the work you've done. I'm never going to them again. read more

After two good years, this year our experience with Eden has been frustrating to say the least. The problem is that they do not commit to a time frame, such as 24 hours since end of snowfall. That means that they consider it reasonable for you to wait 1 day, 2 days even 3 days until the they clear the snow. You never know when they will come, and the app is only good if your crew communicates with you, which in our experience they do not. Three times, after normal snowfall, having waited for over 24 hours, we called customer service only to be told that we would need to wait. Each time, after over 36 hours we broke down and cleared the snow ourselves. Three times of complaining and nothing has changed. A company that considers it reasonable to leave people snowed in for more than a day is unprofessional and definitely not reliable! This is by far the WORST service provider I have ever worked with. You'll notice I hardly leave reviews. The only reason I'm leaving one is to save others from a HORRIFIC experience. These so called landscapers charged me more than the app showed for 4hrs of work and then they left within 45 minutes after doing a rush job, leaving garbage in my garden and missing more than half the work. When I complained they told me the landscapers said I was so happy I offered them beers. They twisted my offer when I met the team to keep them hydrated to something of a reward for a terrible job. I asked them for a partial refund, they refused. They offered to send back the team but at this point I was concerned to have them back on scene. I fought for months with Amex over the charge but instead amex wanted to keep the merchant business and decided to eat the cost and reimburse me for the charge. Trust me DO NOT WORK WITH THIS PROVIDER. you never know who you will get and Eden doesn't stand behind the customer, they back the service provider. read more

Would not use again, took many days to get snow clearing scheduled (there should be some reasonable disclaimer on the website that contractors don't accept the job within a short time). By this time the snow was hard, the removal was a 'pass', not down to pavement. My elderly mother had to go afterwards and clean up more of the snow. Price went up even though I had selected all the required conditions (i.e. the driveway holds 2 cars, not 10). First contractor ditched the acceptance, second contractor ended up coming. They will run the snowblower at 1am. When we asked nicely for them not to do this they responded in a rude manner telling us he had too much business and he HAD to run it at 1am, "what do you want me to do clear by hand with a shovel"? Terrible service. The contractor who was supposed to quote the lawn job went ahead with the work before I had approved the quote. My credit card was charged $276 for a very simple job of less than an hour of work. When I complained to Eden they are not returning my calls. Very upset about this! read more
