My wife did a little research and found this place about 20 minutes from our house. It was worth the drive. Even though it is winter and there was still some snow on the ground, the kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. I don't blame them. This felt more like an obstacle course you'd find at a summer camp than a neighborhood park. Loads of fun and something I'd recommend to anyone with young kids.

I spent a lot of time at this park and my only complaint is that for a park that is usually busy they have yet to open the restrooms. countless times we've had to leave because one of us has had to use the bathroom and with no public restrooms around we ended up just going home.

Yes I can see it having hot surfaces on really sunny days, but there are also places in park that are shaded for kids (tire swing under play platform, the shuttle kids can climb, lemonade stand...). Lots of ducks were out with the little babies. Looks like there's a little fun area with rides for kids and food. It wasn't open for the season looks like. A little ways down was a big aviary with over 300 hundred birds, all kinds of species. Not sure what the admission price was since we didn't go in but we saw lots of families entering. We didn't get to explore the whole park, it was so big. It's a great place to picnic but watch for duck poop on the grass!
