I did notice a few red flags but she seemed nice and I figured, why not give her a chance? When I first contacted her, I asked her if her groupon or her facebook special was a better value and she suggested that her facebook special was better which was $100, 45 min 20-30 images. I agreed, booked, and paid. We also agreed on a location that she choose based on my requirements (outdoors and near water) The night (10:27pm) before the shoot she sent me a message saying that we should switch locations and/or the time of the shoot because of the sun. I was really confused and upset because she choose the location and said she had shot their many times. Didn't you already know the sun would be an issue, why are you telling me this the night before??? She suggested moving to a location without water which I had already told her that a location with water was a non-negotiable or moving the shoot 3 hours back. She eventually agreed to keep the shoot at the same time and location b/c the weather report was suggesting an overcast. The shoot went relatively well, but I was very disappointed at her lack of creativity. We got very few poses and there were several shots with small things that I feel the photographer should have noticed and told us fix (ex. my husband's (transition) glasses were tinted or the way feet were positioned). After the shoot, I asked her when the photos would be ready and she said tomorrow. The next day, my husband went to get the CD and it would not work, I tried it on multiple devices and told her and she suggested it was my problem and not hers. She said she would email them (and she did), but not all of them. ((Up until this point I would give her 2 stars)) I then asked when I would get the rest of them and she went on a very long rant about how she had gone above and beyond for me and how she needed take care of her 6 kids, husband, etc. A few days later, I messaged her again and let her know I still had not gotten the rest of my pics. She finally did send them. In conclusion, her photography skills are mediocre. I put too much time, energy, and money into this shoot and I was unhappy with the final product. She sent me several pictures that I could not use, pictures with poor lighting, and pictures that needed editing. Now I need to find someone to help me edit the pictures as I am absolutely done dealing with her. I would not use her again or recommend. Her customer service skills are horrible. I will not recommend.

Family photos are always a stressful experience for me, trying to get children ready, keep them clean, and get 4 young children to smile and focus. This photographer managed to capture beautiful photos of my children that showed their individual personalities. I love how patient she was with my busy 2 year old twins and managed to get amazing shots even with them running away from the camera. She took individuals of each person, mom with girls, dad with son, mom and dad, family, etc. I was promised 7-10 digital images and was provided so many more. We originally signed up for a 10-15 minute mini-session that turned into an hour long session at no extra charge. This year (2016) we chose to use Knightly Photography again. Once again she did not disappoint. She is the most patient photographer I have ever dealt with. She makes a usually stressful experience easy on mom. No other photographer gives you more photos than promised and gets them to you the next day. I admit she does not do extensive editing, but I like the fact that my pictures represent what we actually look like. I like that she captures my kids being kids and not posed statues. She has always been extremely flexible and honest with me about location and lighting. I was promised an email with pictures the next day, but was contacted by the photographer who explained that there were so many good ones she wanted to meet me and give me a disk with all the photos instead of emailing a few. This was not at all an inconvenience since she was going above and beyond to give me more than I asked for and even paid for. If you are looking for a photographer who will pose you and do extensive editing, this may not be the photographer for you. If you are looking for someone who loves children and photographs them doing what they do best (being kids), someone who will spend as much time with your family to get the shot vs. telling you your 10 minutes is up, and someone who gives you so many photos at a reasonable price then this is definitely the photographer for you. I have referred her and know the families I referred have been as happy with the results as I have been. Knightly Photography will taking my family photos for years to come.

As a gift to (myself) and my wife I purchased a photo shoot for her. For the session I also got her…read morethe make-up and hair add on (well worth it). On the day of the shoot I dropped her off a little early at the studio 8-27-14. Keep in mind NO MALES are allowed in the studio for the session. I had no problem with that because I wanted to be surprised to see the photos when I get them. They are an all female staff to help ease any resevations you may have and remember no extra bodies are allowed in during the session. This is her time. After wards, I asked my wife how did the photo shoot go? She had nothing but praise about the whole thing. From the time she walked in to the end of the 2 hr shoot. Everyone was very professional. Jill the photographer kept things upbeat and fun for her. They really made her feel special. When I went back to pick her up she was still all dolled up from the session. She looked amazing. Her makeup artist Raquel did a great job. I can't hardly wait to get the photo book she picked out so I can see the photos we should get in 4 to 7 weeks. ( a little long but I understand they are busy) I will have to up date this review when I see them. This was my first ever boudoir photo session so I went in with confidence in her abilities but some…read moredoubt as to mine. We first sat down and discussed all the different albums and packages they offer. I chose a large album, a fold-out pocket sized album, and a digital album for portable devices, all as gifts to my husband. We then went over my outfits and accessories, and decided which sets we'd use. She has about four stylishly furnished bedrooms and a few chaises and settees and I chose my two fav sets. Next we moved on to hair and makeup. I LOVED WHAT SHE DID with it all!!! She has shoes, stockings, etc for rent to finish off any look. I picked some seriously sexy black 7" pumps that I'd never buy for myself, but honestly I can't see any other shoe being as perfect as they were. The actual photo session was so much fun. She has a way of coaching and encouraging, coupled with such vision and inspiration, that I very quickly got lost in the moment and the shoot became an exhilarating, liberating, sultry, beautiful experience. The time flew by so fast. I had one wardrobe change, but already knew I'd be wanting to do this again at some point, with a few more colorful, more risqué outfits. By the time the session ended I was pretty tired and sore from posing just so, but I knew I was going to be pleased with my proofs. Well, "pleased" is not the right word. When I received my gallery of proofs via email to review and select my favorites, I simply couldn't do it. I loved every single shot!! I had my sisters, my aunt, my BFF, and my two adult daughters help me decide. They were stunned speechless by how fantastic the photos all were. I needed to narrow my choices to about 18 photos for the largest album I'd picked out; I never could get it down to less than about 36! In the end I decided to buy the entire digital catalog of photos she took that day. I'm just so proud of how they turned out! And I've already discussed doing another photo shoot with her next year. I give her highest marks and endless thanks for making it a day to remember, and giving me such perfect photos. I'll treasure them always!!

I had some girl friends take the pictures with a different photographer & thought the idea was pretty cool. I had never actually looked into it because I didn't know where to start or even look. My friend's daughter took her engagement pictures with Sevier photography. When I saw her pictures, I was convinced she was the photographer for me. I really wanted to take the boudoir pictures but I was a little hesitant because I didn't feel 100% comfortable with body. After I spoke to Sadie, I got really motivated & excited! I'm not going to lie I was still a little nervous but just speaking to her I knew it was going to be an awesome experience. And that's exactly how my session turned out!! For the most part, many of them looked like they could be in magazines and not the run of the mill senior pics that I was accustomed to seeing. I knew then that we wanted her for my daughter's senior photos. The photo shoot was set for 3/14/17 in downtown Houston due to my daughter wanting a graffiti background in her pictures. Ms. Colvin was very personable and she made my daughter feel comfortable. 3/23/17- We viewed the proofs and they were no less than amazing. I ordered a package that included announcements, 11x14 standout print, hardcover album and 4 sheets of prints. I paid for the entire order the same day. 4/7/17- I received a text from Ms. Colvin stating that my order was ready. 4/9/17- My daughter and I met Ms. Colvin at nearby Starbucks to pick the order. The 4 sheets of prints were not available. The hard cover picture album had one page where the binding cut into my daughter's image so the album had to be made over. So, the only items that we received that day were the graduation announcements and the 11X14 standout picture. 4/30/17- I texted Ms. Colvin asking if the album and prints would be ready by 5/13/17. Ms. Colvin responded promptly with "Ok,got it." 5/10/17 - I texted Ms. Colvin again asking if the album and prints would be in ready in time for Kyra's graduation (5/13/17). She responded promptly with "Yes, they are here". I asked her to let me know when she would be available to meet up. (insert cricket interlude here) because I didn't receive a response from my question asking when would we be able to meet with her to get them. 5/12/17- I received a text from Ms. Colvin stating "Howdy, I've left your book and prints at the UPS store". We picked up the album and 3 of the 4 prints. Ms. Colvin included a post-it note stating that there was still 1 remaining print that she owed us. 6/15/17- I texted Ms. Colvin asking if the last print was ready. (insert cricket remix here) because no response from her at all. 6/26/17- I send another text to Ms. Colvin about this outstanding print that she owes us. She responds in text saying that she will ship to us and what is our mailing address. I respond with the address. 8/4/17 - As of this date, I still have not received this last print nor have I received any communication from Ms. Colvin. I sent her an email to express my dissatisfaction in not receiving this outstanding item. I paid her for my entire order in one transaction yet I have received most of the order in a piece meal fashion. Dragging out the delivery of a client's order is unacceptable and unprofessional especially when the client did not pay you in a piece meal fashion. 8/5/17 at 10:05AM - (insert cricket extended play version here) because still haven't heard from her. 8/9/17 - Complaint # 12317653 was filed with the Better Business Bureau of Houston since my email was unable to render a response from Ms. Colvin. Lo and behold, my BBB Complaint managed to rouse her. I received an email from Ms. Colvin on 8/9/17 titled: An Open to Letter My Clients". I assume it was meant to read: An Open Letter to My Clients. In short, she explains that she has been "going up the rough side of the mountain" due to personal family matters and apologizes for not being "joyous, efficient and on top of things". What she failed to explain was when I would actually receive this outstanding print. 8/17/17- No print received to date. 8/26/17- Received a tracking # for the print. 9/1/17- Print was delivered as well along with some extra prints. God is good and His mercy endures forever! Thank you, Ms. Colvin. In summary, I will say that she is an incredible photographer -her pics prove it. But, from a professional standpoint, Tomayia Colvin photography has some work to do. If you choose to use her, you'll absolutely love the finished product, but if my experience is any indication of what you'll encounter after you have paid for your order, you may want to get confirmation in writing when you pay as to when you will actually receive your products.

After she did such a great job with my sister's maternity shoot, I reached out to Tomayia Colvin via email to inquire about a generational family photography shoot. She responded immediately with her availability and asked if I had any personal ideas that I wanted to cover during the shoot. She also mentioned that she offered makeup services. We confirmed a date and I told her to feel free to do anything. She sent me the link to pay online (which was very easy and user-friendly) and I was confirmed. She arrived on time with props and her assistant to my grandmother's house. Much to my liking, she was able to transform the outside of my grandmother's house into a beautiful atmosphere for a photoshoot with only a chair. I mean, the large bush in the background of our pics has been there for years. Nonetheless, with the angles she chose, you would not know the shoot took place in her front yard. After about an hour (prep and shooting), we were done. She explained the selection process and turn around time in detail, then allowed us to ask any questions. We received our proofs link quickly and were able to view and pick out several poses we loved. Once finalized, we were given a confirmation that the photos were available to download. Tomayia also let us know about the latest packages she offers. We have plans to put the photos throughout each of our homes.
