I am quite surprised to see some of the previous reviews but I'll comment with specifics to help any parents considering sending their children here. - Focus - My first experience with Montessori Alberta was in 2019 when we had a school tour. I was amazed to see 15 kids sitting on the mat all listening to Ms. Celine read to them. Ms. Celine has a way with children that really keeps them focused. -Adaptable - 2020-2022 was a hard time for schooling for all families but Ms. Celine was able to keep the school safe, keep the parents informed, and keep the kids learning every single day. When our daughter had to miss school for a few weeks, they made efforts to include her via Google Meet which was a wonderful way for my daughter to stay included. -Nurturing - Each of the teacher's here have such a wonderful way of knowing what a child needs. They really gave my daughter the push she needed but also gave her the space to grow. At each of our parent teacher interviews, we got specific and concrete feedback on how our daughter could improve and areas where she was already strong. -Community - The community of parents that bring their kids here is just wonderful and this speaks to the strength of the school and how it fosters that network. Even though our daughter is in grade 1 and all of her previous classmates are now in different schools, the parents still meet up and the kids still play together! Every change (both big and small) that she has implemented has been for the better. Beginning with the 2017/2018 school year they had a full day kindergarten program. Additionally they offer complimentary speech assessments for all the students and should your child need extra help they will arrange for he/she to work with a speech language pathologist during school time. My daughter is very shy (very independent but very shy) and this Montessori has developed and fostered her confidence and has allowed her to be more social. They strive to have students be self-directed and to be accountable for their decisions and actions. My daughter (and my older son under the old owner) both loved literacy and mathematics when they "graduated" from this school. I have two avid readers in my household (they are only 5 and 8 years old) and this is largely a reflection of all the literacy/phonetic work done at Montessori at a young age. This Montessori has instilled the love of learning in my children which made the transition to elementary school so easy. Our love for this school, has resulted in us changing the location of some other child care for our third child so he too can attend this school for the next three years. I would whole heartedly recommend this school to any parent who is looking for a program that will truly allow your young child to shine as an individual and to be exposed to a wonderful introduction to the world of learning.

They have very strange contracts to leave - Gave verbal notice 5 months ahead of time that we would be leaving (my mistake it wasn't in writing until 2 months before the intended date) we were not able to pull him out until the end of summer as they request a written notice by March 10th - which works out to 5 months notice. Communication is very tricky at the school, emails are returned after several days and phones always seem down (executive assistant is a family member of the owner). Refusal to allow mothers to attend father son events in lieu of father's and vice versa. Made it difficult to attend and support. Lots of professional development days and extra days where the campus is closed. Intentions seem great with regards to feild trips though they are often large distances away for 2 1/2 to 5 year olds riding a large school bus and made us uncomfortable sending him at times. We are parents from Smart Tech location. Our daughter was at the daycare for 3 and half years,…read morestarting at the age of two, until past August when she moved on to Kindergarten. We were very happy with the centre, and especially how it was run by its director Kelley Hodson. The moment you enter the centre, the warmth of the environment is unmistakable. This extended to the teachers and other care givers who were always so affectionate with the children and spared no hugs or kind words. It gave us a huge relief to know that our daughter was truly loved and cared for there. Any concerns we had were dealt with immediately. On the first day when I took my daughter to the daycare, and saw how her teacher Ms. Rosemary interacted with her, I knew everything was going to be ok. We know she always felt loved. And we know that because she loved them back. She continuously talked about her teachers, made them cards and drawings, prepared gifts and surprises.
