I was pleasantly surprised by Robin, the instructor/tester. She really put me at ease and provided me with some reminders before the skills test. She even tailored the code blue events to my specialty of nursing. She made my case study about a child with tachycardia after surgery and she asked me what the causes were. Those are frequent situations I see and will continue to see in my field. I really appreciated the knowledge she shared with me and her friendliness. This was a good experience for me.

You basically read chapters from a book and go over the book in class, then take a…read moremultiple choice and fill-in-the-blank test; if you don't get a 90 average on the tests, you flunk out, no opportunity to re-test or otherwise. So-called "clinical experience" is in one of the worst nursing homes in Virginia, and even there, you don't do much. In this fall's course, half the students flunked before clinicals, which should tell you something about the quality of teaching. I'd like to know how many who pass ever actually pass the state CNA exam. Bottom line: Don't waste your money on this program!

I work for the Center as a contract instructor and have for over 20 years. I value that they…read morerespect my privacy by not giving out my personal contact information to every student because I could not possibly juggle all those messages and still plan lessons. Having the fabulous staff coordinating schedules and attendances in one location is so beneficial. And knowing that I get paid even if a student is out assures me my bills get paid! I try to work with my students closely to catch them up or if possible find a small amount of time to make up for time lost but that is not always possible with my busy schedule teaching in multiple locations. Many years ago, I also had my children in music lessons there and it was a wonderful experience where they were nurtured and valued. When we did have an emergency, the staff helped us to work out a solution for a make up or kindly credited us to ease our worries during the crisis. I never asked nor expected a refund if we canceled for basic illness or other reasons. We were always credited if the Center closed due to weather. This is standard practice in most lesson-based businesses per my experience, much like signing up for a community college class or having a child in preschool. It is a small price to pay for the quality instruction you are getting from professional musicians and artists in the Richmond area. The staff are always looking to be helpful and listen to any concerns, as one might expect from a church-run program.

The director is a extremely controlling person and she does not allow any communication between parents and teacher and everything has to go through a little phone/voicemail system she is in charge of. Worst of all, they make you make a commitment to a semester of lessons without any options of doing a make up lesson, even if you tell them two months ahead. We had to walk away from the teacher we like after two trial lessons. The director also owner of this place is impossible to work with. If your child has a busy schedule and you are looking for some flexibility, don't waste your time talking to them. They make the teachers sign no competition contract so the teachers cannot respond to you or communicate with you. Even North Korea is communicable now, but not this place!

My husband and I had our elopement at Sabot at Stony Point and the location could not have been…read moremore beautiful. We got Married on March 20th 2016. Everyone from Sabot was so helpful, accommodating and attentive. Previously I had met with their events coordinator- she gave me a tour and allowed me to take photos of the venue. After sending the deposit and securing the date Sabot notified us that one of the kindergarten classes was having a pizza party of sorts on that Sunday and would be using the main house- however they allowed us use of the event space instead which was a beautiful open space that worked even better with the aesthetic that we were going for. On the day after we had just finished the ceremony and we're heading inside for cake and champagne the kindergarten class waved and were congratulating my husband and I from the Windows that the teacher had opened- it was absolutely adorable and made our day! Sabot also allowed my husband to arrive early in order to set up the sweetheart table , candles and all of the goodies which was much appreciated. I couldn't have asked for a better venue for my special day!

This school is so awful. I have heard stories of people spending hours and hours studying and doing…read morework only to be surprised by their exams later, which had nothing to do with the material. Although there are a few good teachers, many are inconsiderate and rude. The work load is not realistic for students, and the frustrating cycle of never being good enough is a constant struggle for students. Teachers are often degrading and humiliating as well, calling out students in the rudest way possible unnecessarily, and teachers picking favorites and being flat out rude is also apparent. Although a few high level classes are available, the school's schedule set-up often prevents those classes from being utilized. The school building itself is gross as well. There is hair everyone - on the floors, on the walls, in the bathrooms. The conditions of the school are hazardous and embarrassing. For the increasing price, there are many better private schools in the area that are better options for a future college student.
