I had quarterly services from eco shield for over a year for a house that I am currently renting to tenants. In August and September I made multiple efforts to schedule a time in early October for the company to come and treat the inside of my house while I was in between tenants. After multiple phone calls customer service always said they would have the local branch call me, but that never happened After three attempts over 2 months. As the time approached that the new tenants would be moving in, I still had not gotten a response. I called one last time and said that I would have to cancel service if they did not schedule a time, but the woman didn't speak English well enough and simply canceled the service and hung up. When I called back I was notified that I could not schedule anything because my service has been canceled. This went from me trying to schedule an additional service, to me writing a one star review and filing a complaint with the better business bureau. A huge customer service fail. They are now harassing me with multiple calls a day, text messages, and letters trying to get me to pay my last payment when they did not do the service. I have repeatedly explained this to them on the phone and they continue to harass me (Even their own text message says that they are "chasing" me) but I am not paying for a service they never provided. Admittedly, I had one last payment in the contract, but they also had one last service on that same contract. There are many other services. Don't use this one. read more

Very shady company with rude, pushy salesmen who ignore your no soliciting sign. I would never do business with this company.

Don't trust the door-to-door salesman. He doesn't work for the company, he's a third-party salesman and will tell you flat lies to earn his commission. When they say "Not harmful to pets," do your own research. That's a broad claim, and vague enough for a helluva lot of wiggle room. Put in simpler terms, their own employees won't use the chemicals in their own homes, around their own pets and kids. Don't trust the service man. We watched him come out, do a portion of the work, then leave. When we said something about it to the complaint line, we were dismissed, because his report said he did it, so WE must be the liars. Do they really think I stood outside while he was here and somehow missed the guy sepentine the entire one-acre yard to spread granules across the yard? Yes. Apparently, they do. Because twenty minutes is enough time to do all his work around the house AND walk the yard it takes the six-year-old forty minutes to scour for easter eggs. And do not expect to have any communication with the company outside of that sales rep. I called multiple times about the incomplete service, texted the number we were given (which stopped responding when I asked about the missing service), and even sent emails. I only got a representative to talk to me once, which was when I was gaslit by a representative about what was and wasn't done when the guy was out here. I tried to postpone the second service, since the first hadn't been done, via text, and phone, and still, someone showed up for the second treatment (an egg-cycle thing that couldn't even be done until it had been a certain time after the first treatment that WAS NEVER DONE). I called them again to reschedule that second treatment, and I got help with that. The next week, after failing to get a call back from one of the representatives that said they would look further into the issue and get back to me, I called to cancel the service outright. I was beyond over it. There didn't seem to be an issue, until a month later, when I started getting emails to pay a balance incurred by cancelling the 12-month contract we'd signed. Five emails I replied to. Two sent to the company email address found on their info packet. No one responded to me. Instead, I received weekly emails on my amount due. When I finally realized I had to call them directly, I spoke with several associates in different departments before I was ultimately told that since their reports said the services were done, I was the one who broke the contract, therefore, I owed them the $150-odd dollars. Their resolution department merely told me their policies (again), how I'd earned my bill (with no concern to what caused it), and zero compromise. I've worked customer service over a decade, and I'll easily admit to this company being in the top five of the worst customer service departments I've ever had to deal with. If I had enough time, I'd take them to court for it, but fortunately for us, the hours such an endeavor would take aren't worth the price. I only hope someone less financially stable isn't swindled like we were. read more

EcoSheild's door to door salesperson stopped by this 2023 built Edmonds area home to offer a free inspection. By the time they were done they told the homeowners that the builder did not apply a sufficient amount of attic insulation, and offered to replace it for $7,000. The fact is the attic insulation meets modern codes of R-60, but this did not stop the salesperson from trying scare tactics to pressure the homeowner into signing the contract for their unnecessary service. Fraud and poor ethics come to mind. Don't take my word for it, just read all the posts on Reddit about the experiences people are having with this company. read more

Signed up for 1 year membership on the word of the salesmen that they would clean the crawl space, place traps, and use a solution on my hiuse to keep the bugs away. They wanted 10k to clean the crawl space so they lied. They rarely replaced the rodent traps. The solution they wipe on the house can be purchased for $20 at home depot. When I cancelled after the year membership was up, they harassed me with endless emails and text and kept attempting to charge me for the service I canceled. This company is just about as bad as they get. They ripped us off a few years back for pest control, so we cancelled the service. Now they knock on our door 1-2 times a year even though we have a "no soliciting" sign in plain view. We answer the door, point to it, and they shrug their shoulders and start their sales pitch. The salespeople are consistently dishonest (making fictional statements about pest infestations on the exterior of home), aggressive (one even tried to draw me into a physical altercation), and incredibly rude. I'm not sure how they stay in business, but somehow they manage. From what we've gathered over the years with all their unpleasant visits, is that they are trained to ignore no soliciting signs by the company. An agent showed up (name redacted for privacy) and played the same tactics that others have mentioned in their reviews - we are here in the neighborhood and showed me 5-7 random names of customers that have signed up for their service. When I cross checked none of these people confirmed. He told me they charge $189 quarterly after which I reluctantly signed up for it. After taking my credit card details he tells me i will be charged $189 for first and 2nd months consecutively in the first quarter. I felt that was different from the pricing plan that he initially told me. I felt deceived and lost his trust at which point I told him I don't want to subscribe. He started yelling at me and told me that I wasted his time and that he will tell his company to flag me and block me so that they never sign me up as a customer. This place is criminal. Service was fine I guess, I didn't even notice they were here. I tried to cancel my service because it's a luxury I can't afford right now, and they were going to charge me an early cancellation fee of $220. At no point did the sales rep tell me that there was an annual contract. Nothing whatsoever about an early cancellation fee of the entire "discounted rate" they gave me. NOTHING WHATSOEVER. All this after they offered me $30 not to cancel, then $50 not to cancel, then $100 not to cancel. So now my rate is $130 / "service" so if you're paying their full rate card of like $400 every time they come out there, you are getting seriously ripped off. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. I have mutiple No Soliciting and No Trespassing signs posted at my front gate and next to my front door. I was outside and watched the Ecoshield door to door salesman ignore all the signs, come onto my property, and demand to be heard. I told him to leave my property immediately. He ignored me, badgering me to buy their pest control, saying that he had just come from a neighbor who I know happens to be in the hospital, so I knew that he was lying. I told him to leave my property repeatedly and informed him that I was not going to respond to his demands to answer his questions. I ended up telling him to go to h___, which I never do, and he laughed, telling me that I must be having a bad day. I then told him I wanted to see his license and with that, he finally left. It took more than 10 minutes to get him off my property. His approach was scary aggressive. I would NEVER use this company. I see that their extremely aggressive tactics have continued despite all the complaints from other reviewers. It's clear that Ecoshield is the cockroach of the pest control companies. No amount of control seems to stop their bullying sales tactics. There are other local pest control companies that are extremely effective, provide excellent customer service, and never go door to door looking for sales. They are the ones to go to for this work. This company is a scam, do not under any circumstances sign any paperwork with them, or allow them to do work on your property. A young man came to my house going door to door to sell this pest control service. I really appreciated his hard work, as I use to do the door-to-door game and it isn't easy. The prices weren't horrible, and the kid was nice, so I scheduled one pest control service at what I believed was a pretty affordable rate. He said that I would need to have quarterly services to keep current on what he had done. If I am being honest, I wasn't sure I would have it done again, but I was going to cross that bridge later. He came the next day, serviced my property, and I was happy with the work. A few months later they texted me that it was time for another service and that they had a date they were scheduled to come out. I was out of town on vacation and would still be gone on the date they sent, so I texted back saying as much and they offered to reschedule. Since I was on vacation I did not text back a date to reschedule because I did not have my calendar with me. I always like to make sure I am home when companies are coming on to my property to service it. A few days later I get an e-mail with a bill saying not only did they still go out on my property when I told them I wouldn't be home, but they charged me more than my first visit! I called customer service and asked to speak to someone at my local office, to which I was informed everyone left early that day. I told the operator (now the second one I was passed to) that I wanted to cancel my account and not have them come back, and I was told that the contract I signed locked me into a year of service, and if I cancelled, I would still be charge for the rest of the year's quarterly visits. I asked that a manager from the local office call me as soon as they got back into the office the next day, and that was four days ago, and I still can't get ahold of anyone. I get it, I signed a contract. But they went onto my property when I wasn't home after I explained that I did not want work done when I wasn't going to be there. They tried to argue miscommunication, but there was no miscommunication here. Do not make my mistake, if they come to your door do not answer and do not sign anything. We noticed some animal was in our deck's soffit and called EcoShield for help. Since we have a general pest treatment plan with them, the inspection was free. The inspector, Jonathan Levin was fantastic! He inspected the area we knew an animal had visited, he also was very detailed in investigating around the entire house and inside our attic. He identified several other possible entry points for pests/rodents. Jon paid great attention to detail and walked me through how they would help remove whatever animal was in our soffit (if needed, looks like this animal already vacated), how they would seal the openings he identified and how they would clean/sanitize the space an animal previously occupied. I really appreciate Jon's thorough investigation, he was knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. I will be working with EcoShield to seal up these openings! read more

Despite the clearly displayed sign on my front door that read "No Solicitors," one of their representatives had the audacity to show up uninvited, insisting they couldn't read the sign. Not only did Ecoshield fail to respect my explicit instructions, but their representative's claim of being unable to read a simple sign raises serious concerns about their attention to detail and professionalism. If they can't even comprehend a straightforward message on a door, how can I trust them to provide any reliable service? This encounter has left me with a negative impression of Ecoshield, and I cannot recommend them to anyone seeking respectful and considerate companies. Their disregard for boundaries and lack of basic reading skills make me question their overall competence and reliability. It's disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism from a company that claims to value customer satisfaction. They seem to be scamming people by not delivering the promised services and ignoring calls and emails. i've spider webs all around the house, that they pointed out on their initial visit, i called , emailed and texted many times with no response.When I requested to cancel due to their incompetence, they even deducted $200 extra, instead of refunding me, claiming it was an initial discount. Overall pretty displeased with these folks. First off the service people change each visit. I was promised I would have the same pest control person throughout my contract. It's clear the turnover here is extremely high, and the many of the responding pest guys began looking more like shady drug users and ex cons. I had an issue with ants after having a new driveway poured. Ecoshield promised a resolution but their chemicals just weren't effective. Multiple treatments with "waiting periods" for a die off but their treatments weren't effective. The final straw was I requested the removal of small wasp nests in the corner of my roofline. The pest guy refused stating he didn't touch active nests. This was the primary reason I agreed to $200 treatments and a 24 month contract (DON'T DO IT). I went down to Lowes and bought a gallon of Ortho Home Defense for under $20 and took care of the ant issue in about 2 hours. I then used a long paint pole to remove my wasp nests. Overall it was worth paying the $200 to cancel my contract early. The fee should have been waived in my opinion because honestly the work wasn't effective. I recommend avoiding EcoShield and doing it yourself or going with another company like Aptiv who uses better products. read more

Total scam operation told the trespasser on my property I was selling and only wanted them to spray for wasps. Wasps are still here and now I am receiving bills for more than the salesperson said it would cost tried to call them and you get a very noisy call center with many people speaking in the back ground I asked to speak to someone at the company directly and they said that is not possible. I told them if they cancel the service I would pay they said with late fee and pre cancellation of contract I owed a large sum of money. EcoShield left my house with $1000 cash and never Emailed my receipt. I called to ask what happened to my receipt. I was assured that it was going to arrive soon. I never saw it. After treatment was completed twice in 2 months we noticed that we still had ants in our home. Outside I noticed many types of ants around our home and many spider nests inside of our pool cage. I called EcoShield to cancel my service and asked for a refund since they obviously hadn't done what they charged me for. EcoShield apparently spends their resources on customer service admin instead of field service because I received many phone calls and Emails. I asked them several times not to contact me ag. They continued to call and Email me so they could supposedly correct their failure, so I said they should come and complete the work that they charged me for. EcoShield said that they would not remedy their failure because I canceled my account. They sent back less than half of my $1000. Ecoshield informed me that I would be billed for two treatments @ $139 each and they would deduct a $200 discount I received off my initial service for signing a one year contract. Ecoshield told me that they would deduct $478 from my payment of $1000. The check I received was for $495. Ecoshield took $505 for what amounts to nothing. Apparently EcoShield is not required to honor their terms of the contract and exterminate insects. At this point the only PESTS I am rid of is EcoShield. read more

How we got scammed by EcoShield pest control. We have a bad vole problem on our property. A EcoShield salesman stopped and tried to sell us on signing up for their pest control. I made it very clear the only reason we would sign up is if it would solve our vole problem. He said it would but it would take longer. When I met with the tech installing the traps and the first bait reloading he reiterated the same thing and to be patient because voles take longer. After a year on the program and peak vole season coming in June/July we saw it made absolutely no difference and the "taking longer" sales point was just to string us along. At this point we contacted EcoShield about their lying sales rep. and they said they would escalate the issue but they never would reply so each time it was the same story. In the meantime they assured us there would be no new service calls or charges. Of course that was just another lie, as we were surprised when they showed up to do another service, which we were able to stop before they left the vehicle. After many more calls they said they won't do anything because voles weren't in the contract I foolishly signed on his phone without reading. To add insult to injury they are now trying to charge us $220 to cancel the contract after breaching our verbal contract. So now they are going to send it to a collection agency. My advice would be to avoid this company at all costs. read more

I went outside to make sure he left, during which he recorded me without my consent, he was loitering, and he and his supervisor Braxton (whom he called) took turns harassing and insulting me (e.g. saying "go back home," "[You] don't own your neighborhood", and "[You] have no brain cells"). Please please don't support these folks. They were very creepy to my wife last time, telling her to open the door so they could have a "nice chat." read more

Review Update 6/16/2024 CANCELED SERVICES-- After 5 years with Ecoshield, I have canceled with them. Their services which has either been hit or miss depending on the technician assigned has gone down hill as well as their call center. It doesn't matter if you have listed in your account notes of preferred technicians and preferred times/dates. Technicians, dates and times are automatically randomly assigned. You won't know who the technician assigned is until they either show up on the day of the appointment or if you call in to confirm. I've always called in to confirm and request a change to my preferred technician, but there's been times more often than not, where after my request for my preferred technician has been confirmed, they go back and change the technician and I don't find out till the day of the appointment. It's gotten to the point where I've had to call in multiple time to confirm the technician only to have the technician switched on me or canceled. I've also requested call backs from managers only to have to call back in again a month later and be told that due to them expanding to different cities, their backend is a mess and my call back requests had fallen through. I've switched to a local small family owned pest control company who have been pretty phenomenal. AB Pest Control has been great. I've had no issues with appointments and the technician. He's awesome and does a very thorough job. The prices will be a little higher than Ecoshield, but I'd rather pay more to a small family owned local company for better service. I've canceled and made a switch. So should you. read more

We did not see any results from the treatments done at our home. The tech on the phone kept telling me I had to be patient. He indicated I would have to give them a year to improve the service or pay a 201$ cancellation fee. When I told the tech I would pay the fee just to get out of the contract with them, he spent another 10-15 min arguing with me on why I should not cancel my service.
