Kandice Ahlberg did an excellent job explaining my hearing loss from the hearing test she did…read moreearlier. She spent more time with me than previous appointments, at least an hour, and did a demo of the BAHA, Bone Anchored device that Dr Wood recommended I check out. With BAHA, the sound transfers through the bone and tissue from the bad ear to the good ear. It requires surgery. During the exam she played a very realistic recording of restaurant noise and then softly spoke behind me where I couldn't read her lips. My other audiologists have not used such a recording to provide a greater life-like listening experience so I really liked that vs just speaking with me face-to-face in a quiet room. For the BAHA to work, the good ear needs to not have inner ear problems.

I came in to see Kandice for a hearing aid consultation. It was the worst experience ever. She knew…read moremy situation before hand. I was told one hearing aid would be between $1,300-$3,800. My new insurance became effective Sept. 1st and I scheduled my appointment. Well once she finds out I have new insurance the prices suddenly changed. Then she informed me that even with insurance that I would have to pay $2,500 up front and then when they got the check from my insurance they would reimburse that to me. She had a whole sales pitch, just wasting my time then told me the price that she gave me was no longer valid bc I have insurance so they will more expensive. She new that I'm disabled, and how excited I was to get my hearing aids. I felt played and a complete waste of my time bc she knew I couldn't afford to pay upfront. I was crying when I left, bc of how I was treated. When I called my insurance company to explain to them what she said, they even said that they do not even do reimbursements like that. I was also needing to get my custom earplugs remade, and she hasn't even called me to try to set that up after what happened. I'm soo disappointed with Oklahoma Hearing Center.
