First of all, my family was staying there for a funeral, they told us we could get a room with two queen beds for $57 a night. When I arrived, they gave me a room with one king bed. They put me in another room with two queen beds but charged me another approximately $30. The first morning at breakfast (which was very limited), the manager (not from this country and with poor English) they asked me how many people were in the room. I told them at check in there would be 4 adults and one 3 year old child and we would need extra towels for them. But he wanted to know again, because as he said, "the owner was looking at us on the camera (creepy) at check in" and noticed that we had too many people in the room. So guess what? there was another charge of $90 for the room. The $57 room price that was quoted to us per night, was actually closer to $100 per night. The rooms were dirty and there was construction ongoing at the hotel with power tools running all hours of the day and night. The room had no closet, no coat rack and no way to hang up clothes. They did have wifi but it was of horrible quality and mostly unusable. Stay at the cottonwood up the street. The rooms are cleaner and a bit more expensive, but totally worth it. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER stay at this hotel.

The good, the room was spacious, a working ice maker was on our floor, and the breakfast was ok. The bad, the mattress was super uncomfortable, the bed sheets and comforter were too small for the bed, and the view outside was a trailer park. This hotel is maybe worth 100 a night. My husband is a snob and prefers fancy name brand hotels so he gave me a lot of crap booking this place. The shower not working made him have a hay day making fun of me. However, I called, she came within minutes to check on the shower and opened a new room for us with a working shower right away. The room was clean enough but the bathroom's definitely left something to be desired. The showers and floors were stained pretty badly in both rooms. My husband had to go buy shower shoes at dollar general (conveniently across the street) before he would get in the shower. If the bathrooms were upgraded as much as the rest of the hotel it would be a solid 5 stars. This is pet friendly for an extra $25 per night. I pushed every lumen of daylight to make it to Arapahoe with the last rays of sun and get to the last motel. Unfortunately in the time it took me from my first call (to confirm there were rooms) to my second call (to confirm I could actually get that far), the one single room sold out and left only doubles. I have seen hotels give you the lower rate sometimes, but this isn't a chain so that may be a factor. (That being said, indie hotels are more likely to throw nice things at you like that... hint.) Room itself was fine. The town is quiet but apparently every so often a truck or motorcycle? drives through with a loud engine. Since the doors are outward facing, that results in noise penetrating the room. A/C units are old and you're either running fan or A/C (low or high) or heat (low or high) - nothing that conforms to a single temperature. Generally that's the thing I'd say here - functional but old. The next morning I left. Just left, because the morning food baskets cost money. I mean, at least they have them, so I can't complain too hard. But it's the little things. If the place charged me $5 more and included the food basket free, that'd strike me as a better deal. If they were willing to charge me for a single room because they're not selling out and I'm not getting two beds messy, that'd be a better deal. But they didn't. In the end, it was nice enough and the only hotel within a half hour in any direction, so I won't be too harsh, but looking back on it, I should've booked that Rodeway when it still had rooms.
