Back when I went there it was still a school for all age groups. It has been several years since I was last there, but I worked first hand at the renovation of the school to make it more suitable for kids. Everything at the school was renovated in order for it to be suitable for kids, from toilets, to stairs, chairs, and table. When I was helping with the renovation of the school, I met many of the teachers that were going to work there, and those who I met seemed to be well educated teachers, that would take good care of any students going to the school.

The other review must have caught them on a bad day because I find the administrative staff very kind and pleasant! The school really nurtures kids while encouraging them to grow and learn. They help everyone to learn no matter what your level. It is also one of the very few schools that represents the whole community of this area. Listen to the review of the person who knows! Now I see maybe "why". I had an appointment to visit this place and I was late 15 minutes. The two ladies at the reception, were anything but polite. They didn't ask me the reason I was late - they didn't care and they also lied to me by telling me that two other visitors who had the same time with me appointment , had already seen the place. And I m telling they lied because the visitor's book was wide open in front of me and the last person who visited the place was at least two hours earlier than my appointment. Also no one came out of the building the whole time I was there. Furthermore the one that opened the front door wasn't told me to come in ( I had with me the pram ) only when I asked if I could have another appointment. She saw her computer and she made a note of the new appointment by telling me " you will be here?".......!!!!!!!!! " no, i won' t !"

The rooms are comfortable and there is a TV room with VCR/DVD and a movie collection for the residents. There is a kitchen downstairs where people can store food and cook meals so you don't have to go out all the time. There is a small garden in the back with a grill and table where its nice to go out on a nice day and have a bit of a picnic. The staff is very helpful and they organize trips and cultural activities for the study abroad students.

My professor for sociology of subcultures was the foremost biographer (and friend) of Vivienne Westwood/Kate Moss/Malcolm McLaren, etc..; professor for social analysis of modern Britain was an EU consultant that would visit candidate memberstates to analyze the economic parabola to see if their country would be able to match the joining criteria, and also taught at LSE... they really got some good people to sign on. I wish I could say the same for the school I'm doing my MA at!!!! The only negative I had with them, was the cafeteria food, and anyone that's been to Richmond can attest to this... (pasta with vegetarian sauce will give you nightmares), but you're in an area with endless restaurants so just eat out! They did a really good job of organizing subsidized activities for the students to do, so daytrips and things in the city would be fairly affordable to those attending. I'd recommend AIFS/ Richmond in a heartbeat. Was a bit pricey, but well worth the experience.
