I used these taxi companies for a long while when i didnt drive so overall i guess they were good, but the prices are so extortionate and the same as i found with other taxi companies, that different drivers charge different prices. Theyre charging hirer rates so the extra money goes into their pockets. Never mind, i drive now and hope i wont have to use taxi's again.

However I then had to sit and wait whilst people who hadn't booked a taxi came in and were given taxis before me. During the journey the driver proceeded to tell me it doesn't really matter or not if you book in the busy periods they do what is most efficient for them - really personal service there. One tends to think what is then the point in booking? Finally to top it off I was charged £7 for the 3 minute drive - which bearing in mind it was 8pm on a Thursday is extortionate. Upon asking politely why it was £7 I was told "that is the way it is". I found this response to be both unacceptable and rude. I personally wouldn't use John's again unless I had no other option. Their service was poor and expensive and I found the driver rude and obnoxious. There are much better taxi companies in Tring to choose from such as Herts Cabs.
