DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I booked an Antartica cruise in October 2019 on Aurora Cruise Line through Eclipse travel for November 2021 and paid $2500 for the deposit. In September 2021 Matt McMillan, owner of Eclipse Travel, notified me that the trip was cancelled. He stated that if I wanted a refund, he would keep $1000 of my deposit as "reasonable expenses" as stated in section 10.4 under the "Current" guidelines. He explained that "reasonable expenses" included staffing costs and advertising. WHAT! What company cancels your trip and then keeps 40% of your deposit to pay for their staffing. I pointed out that since I paid in October 2019, the correct policy to use was "Pre November 2019" policy 10.2 which states their cancellation policy is that "your deposit will be returned to you in full". He replied that Aurora Cruise had cancelled the trip, not Eclipse Travel, so 10.2 didn't apply and that if I "choose to break my contract with Eclipse Travel and cancel we are within our rights to charge a cancellation fee". WHAT! My cruise is cancelled by the Aurora cruise line and Matt McMillan of Eclipse Travel takes $1000 of my deposit and blames me that I broke the contract. read more
