Bar students are given select dates within the Certificate IV already existing course schedule. I don't know how these dates are selected but in my 4 classes I did not receive promised and crucial training for anyone wanting to work in a bar; these being training on beer reticulation systems or even the whole topic of wine knowledge. Beer, spirits and cocktails were taught and were great, but to forget perhaps the largest alcohol industry and crucial system knowledge makes me wonder what my money was for. It was not as promised when I registered for the course through the Victorian Bar School website.

His communication and passion for drums is second to none. Since then, Steve has been my main session drummer at of my studio - JNP. He still does sessions for me when he's in town and is often asked for by previous clients. Much of the reason my recordings have had great drum sounds over the years is because of his fine work on the kit. He has excellent pop sensibility, fantastic communication and excellent chops to make any song requiring drums shine. He's one of the best in the country when it comes to getting high-end results - I've worked with lots of great players. Steve is a true professional, always on time and always prepared. How it works: You listen to a guy lecture, watch a few videos, get a pamphlet, and then take a test and if you pass you get your RSA Certificate. Not to hard and the payoff is awesome if you're looking for a job in the hospitality industry. Basically any business that deals with alcohol where you could possibly be serving it - requires you to have an RSA. Australia is certificate-happy. I figured it would be boring as hell and something that I have to chug through, but it was strangely... enjoyable? The lecturer was this extremely tall slightly chubby man who talked fast and seemed like a genuinely good guy. He added humour, made things fun, etc etc. So my morning wasn't completely destroyed by boredom and I got an RSA Certificate in the process! Not a bad day.
