This review may gross-out a few people, but then again if you're reading it, it probably means you too have problems with your feet. I'm 6'8", I wear a size 15 shoe, and ever since I was in middle school I have had chronic problems with ingrown nails. For years it meant no sandals or swimming in the summer, I was very self conscious about my feet, and having them treated by family doctors and walk in clinics was a hassle, as they wouldn't address the problem until it got really bad to the point of infection. Eddie, and his business, EC orthotics has literally had a life-changing effect on me. I go there primarily for preventative nail care, but as mentioned by other reviewers, he is friendly and knowledgeable. A true professional. He remembers his clients, and seeing him is like visiting an old friend rather than a doctor. As I am unemployed and do not have benefit coverage, I would not keep going back if the service wasn't top-notch, as I am paying out of pocket. The reason this review does not get a 5 out of 5 is that the location, while convenient for those working downtown, comes across as more of a shoe store, than a clinic. While it is clean, I think it would be better if it was in more of an office setting, rather than a storefront in the shopping concourse of the office tower. But once again, in terms of the staff and treatment, this establishment earns a 5/5. While I personally wish my feet would improve and I would never have to go there again, I take comfort knowing that EC Orthotics will be there when I need them. read more

It was my first time going to EC Orthotics; I had been going to a nearby Chiropodist to get orthotics for the last 8 years or so. I was extremely happy with EC and will go back next year for my next pair of orthotics and compression stockings. The location is a little bit hidden if you are not familiar with the area. But there is enough signage to steer you in the right direction. The chiropodist at EC (Eddie) was very knowledge. He did a lot of client teaching with regards to the orthotics and compression stockings, which was greatly appreciated. The orthotics are custom casted via laser. When I got them, they were honestly the most comfortable orthotics I have ever gotten (and I have been wearing orthotics for the last 15 years). The orthotics themselves are also very well made. They offer a variety of compression stockings....all made in Germany and also of a very good quality. The staff are very good at addressing questions either via email or telephone. And, they provide all the necessary paperwork to submit to the insurance company if you have coverage. I would definitely reccommend EC Orthotics if you are looking to get custom orthotics or any type of Chiropody services. Will definitely return next year! read more

I happened to pass by this place to see what running shoes they have since I was going to look for one at Eaton Centre anyways. I was kindly greeted by the staff and they showed me their selection. As I was browsing, Eddie (the owner) came up to me and started talking to me about my general health and perhaps he could suggest something that would fit me best. As we got to talking, I did confess that I was experiencing some pain in my heel, which I thought was caused by running in improper shoes. He asked some more questions and diagnosed that I likely have plantar fasciitis. He prescribed me a custom orthotics and splints. Now, I've been pain free ever since, which is an amazing feeling given how active my lifestyle is. If you're ever in the downtown core, go visit EC Orthotics. They'll help you out! This place is fantastic to go to. I had pain in my toe off and on for a year so finally went to the doctors to get it checked out. The doctors kept giving me medication and when that did nothing, they suggested I get my foot checked out by a podiatrist. Within just a couple of minutes Eddie was able to tell that it was an ingrown toenail that had been bothering me. He fixed it up right away - painless, and super thorough on how to take care of my toe while it was healing. A couple of months later I went back as my toe was hurting again - again, right away he knew it was the last little bit of the ingrown nail that was now able to be removed. Definitely recommended for any surgical procedures that are needed for your feet! It's convenient that this place is super easy to get to, and it's really easy to get an appointment - same day or next has always been my experience. read more

Have to chime in with the other great reviews of EC Orthotics. I went on the basis of what I read here on Yelp, and I really wasn't disappointed. The place is small and doesn't look super impressive, but Eddie really knows what he's doing. Even before I had my orthotics he gave me a lift for one shoe to correct my leg length discrepancy (which other professionals have remarked on but never treated)--I had an immediate improvement in pain! The orthotics themselves were expensive, but Eddie really knows insurance plans to help you get the most for your benefits. I just got my new orthotics a few days ago and so far, so good--much better than my previous pair, and they work with more of my shoes, too. I plan to come back next year for a second pair for dress shoes. read more

I came across EC Orthotics in the PATH, conveniently located next to Queen subway station. Upon reviewing the website, I was impressed by the information provided and the professional design. This initial impression certainly held up when I went in for my first appointment and received my first pair of orthotic inserts which were much more comfortable, sturdy and overall much higher quality than my old ones. Eddie took the time to explain how my orthotics would be designed and I promptly received it in the next week. It was a great pleasure receiving services from EC Orthotics. Staff members were very prompt and friendly. Dr. Chan was able to assess my feet carefully, and ordered a pair of custom orthotics just right for me. You do not need to deal with a mould, but rather your feet will be scanned by a digital scanner to create more accurate orthotics. I went to Eddie's clinic eversince seeing the review here in Yelp. I initially had doubts but oh boy those doubts were all unfounded. He's very knowledgable and has the eye for checking your feet if it has any problems or not. He cured my on-going pain due to plantar fasciitis (flat feet). The orthotics was a bit expensive but it was all worth it. I really recommend seeing him if you think you need a descent foot appliance. Cheers! read more

Pros: Clean, great customer service, knowledgeable staff, great products. Cons: Price. I am a fan of quality products. I do find it excessive when shoes are priced at $200- 250 when MSRP is about $100- $130. It leaves me to question the price of the custom made orthotics. read more
