Although I moved around the country over the years I always managed to keep a bottle of this delicious oil with me. Most of the time I have had friends and family pick up a bottle and send it to me. Well today I happened to be in Michigan for ONE DAY and stopping by this stand was on my must-do list for the day. My plan was to pick out a handful of new oils (in addition to getting the usual) while I was there in person and had the opportunity to smell them rather than randomly choosing them by name off the website. I went to the mall, approached the stand and saw that there is now a "Moon Goddess" oil sitting next to my fav. I picked it up, smelled it and couldn't decipher much of a difference. So as I weighed the options before me I asked the woman (who is the owner and who has been running the place for eons), what the difference between the two were. She snapped back with "the oil recipes are a trade secret so I don't supply that information". WTF? I have zero interest in going into the small town kiosk oil stand business. I was expecting something like "this one has a sweeter scent" or "that one has more of a woody aroma" but no, I was rudely yelled at for asking a completely reasonable question. She proceeded to be rude when I asked for a larger bottle than the one she was getting ready to pour it into. Wait, isn't this your business that you run and make a living at? Why on earth would you treat your customers this way? Thanks a lot you bi-ach. You have completely ruined my long running love for your little oil. I put it on as I left and decided that I'm tossing the bottle. You took something that was nostalgic in my mind and turned it to something I don't like or want anymore. I guess you have saved my friends the trouble of getting this for me in the future because I will no longer be a customer. I'm being generous with 2 stars because the oil is pretty decent. The cons are it could last longer, customer service and location.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! This shop was a great mix of little boutique booths from different artisans…read more(candles, purses, wood signs, bath salts, kid booth, etc. My kids were in too big of a hurry to really give the shop it's true value) and a rock shop in the middle. They had such an array of rocks, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, towers, etc. We found Yooperlites & Lightening stones. If you're on your way up to rock hunt they even have UV flashlights to use Yooperlite hunting. The best part though was the owner & his mom. They were soooo welcoming and kind. If you local artists & rocks it's a place you could easily spend a couple hours in. We were headed to Cops & Donuts to pee & grab some donuts when we stumbled on this gem. It's a very easy off & on from 127. I'd definitely make it an actual stop on our agenda next time!

About 4 years ago my little cousin got really into rocks, including collecting them to incorporate…read moreinto her jewelry, so I found myself going into Four Directions for the first time since living in Ann Arbor. And I have to say, I'm sad I missed all that time exploring this gorgeous shop! Their selection includes a variety of stones at different price points, sizes, shapes, etc. Some are cut into cylinders and spheres, pyramids, skulls, hearts, etc while others are left in their original shape, though their edges are smoothed from polishing. They carry jewelry pieces with stones incorporated as well as a variety loose stones for making your own. Since then I've also started following some rock tumbling folks on IG (very satisfying, tho I had no idea the process took so long!) and it's been fun looking for some of the polished stones I see in their videos in person in the store. I have a new appreciation for the process and I've even considered picking up some of their unpolished/raw stones and giving it a try myself (though I don't know if I need anymore hobbies!). They also carry fossils, a few different mediums of artwork including works by local artists, plus stationery, prints, journals, tape, decorative water bottles, etc. Plenty of options whether you're giving a gift or getting a lil' treat for yourself!
