It's pretty easy to figure out where you need to go and which platform to be on for a train in or out. I think there are 20-30 different platforms. We took a DB (Deutsche Bahn) to and from the Black Forest without any issue. The trains are clean, smooth, and FAST!

There are lots of restaurants, amazing bakeries, and coffee shops to choose from and if you wait inside in the restaurant area, you must make a purchase. Unfortunately, the train schedule is quite different on Sunday and we ended up having to leave the bullet train and get on a smaller train at another platform, carrying luggage up and downstairs. Then we drove a while longer on the train and then had to change trains yet again. We are so grateful to the people who helped us finally get to our hotel!

You Frankfurters are going to hate me but my experience on the RMV this weekend has been excellent…read more Admittedly, I was only on S-bahn trains (about 15 to 20 of them) and they were all very close to the city center. You can tell which ones from looking at my Bahnhof reviews. Some stations may have had some pretty significant graffiti (Lokalbahnhof in particular) but all of them had working lights and the "next train" announcements were all working. There were some cigarette butts on the tracks, but the platforms themselves were clear of litter. On the trains, I was not riding during rush hour so they were not very crowded. What I noticed was that there was seating for handicapped and wheelchair patrons. People mostly did not litter on the trains and I don't recall seeing anyone eating or drinking. There are no "hidden" areas where someone could leave a bag or package. Most importantly, the trains ran on time and there were plenty of them between where I was and where I wanted to go. The system is easy enough to understand, though I did get on the wrong train once and have to go back. My fault for not reading the route number on the side of the train! Expensive? Nope! €5.35 for an all day pass is reasonable. Though in all of my rides, I never did see a conductor checking tickets. I didn't ride the U-Bahn or the tram system, as they didn't take me where I needed to go. UPDATE: This morning's ride to the airport was delayed about 15 minutes because the train was late and a number of other trains were cancelled. Oops.

The display glows friendly in the dark besides the display there are blinking LEDs, telling even the last provincial: "I am an important operating control" (see photo) capable of two languages (German and English) - and therefore the lights are head-to-head with the tram lines 21,11,16 and 17 at the central station, as well as ca. 14% of the Frankfurt taxi drivers (i.e. ca. 14% understand English - the percentage of German-speaking taxi drivers is higher of course. 60% - maybe even more...)! Due to the central allocation, here's always sth going on. Unfortunately there is only standing room, but then again there is first row place available almost always... and the atmosphere is good! The audience is widely spread both socially and across age groups: Here you can meet lawyers, binmen and japanese tourists. TIP: One may well come alone - and reservation is no issue! Sadly though - as almost always - there is also a downside, counting for a 1-star malus: The service! The traffic lights are doing their job cool as a cucumber and not the least bit quicker - unmolested by friendly slaps on the "please-touch"-spot and customer requests like "Comeon turn green" or "Move it! There's noone far and wide..." IN A NUTSHELL: Without any doubt a "primus inter paris" among the traffic lights. After a tiring shopping tour or after going out, one enjoys crossing the street here! Mühlberg is an island platform that serves the S1 S2 S8 and S9 lines between Ostendstraße and Kaiserlei.
