When my child was older I tried out a few other places but I still say that despite being a few dollars higher than the other places, it is worth it for the level of care you will receive for your children.

She had my son placed in a corner with his nose touching the wall. She would grab the collar of his shirt when she got upset with him. She was caught by my daughter sleeping in another room. She blamed my son when others blamed him and he did not do it. I believe my daughter because she is old enough to tell me what happened. She also gave away our spots when we were going to be returning in the fall without telling me first. However, this turned out to be a blessing after what I was told about her behavior. She may have looked good on "paper" to achieve her 5 star rating, but I would not recommend this place. Disappointed is an understatement.

I am a school crossing guard at an elementary school in Eau Claire. As a parent, I would be very disappointed if they were receiving this level of care. Every day, I see a van for Hand in Hand drop off a student across the street from the school and immediately leave. They do not wait and make sure that the child even makes it across the street safely, let alone to the school grounds. If the child were older, I could understand, but this child is maybe 6 or 7 at the most. I am just surprised every day when I see this happen. The not so good: 1) in the 15-16 months we were there my daughters class went through teachers pretty often. My daughter would be finally getting used to one teacher and next time we came in, there was a new teacher. This was several times. 2) there are quite a few people hanging out there, not sure if they're volunteers or what, and I'm sure they're lovely people, but I'd like a little more info when these other people are going to be around my kid all day. 3) speaking of security, there is none. The front door is always unlocked and sometimes there is a person at the front desk, but many times there's no one around. This practice is so out of date it should be illegal! 4) many times, if I called with a question I'd get voicemail and no one would return my call. 5) when they were taking the kids on a field trip to Como Zoo they were charging an extra fee, which is reasonable. Since it was a large group of very small kids I asked specifically how many adults will be there versus how many kids? No one could answer my question. They didn't know. Very scary. I was told that if my daughter didn't go there would be no care available for my child at the center that day. I had to find alternate care. Then found out I was charged for that day anyway. 6) finally, on several occasions I witnessed the lady in charge yelling at the employees in front of others.
