    Eatjoy beef bowl

The best spot for any college student in the area looking for an affordable bowl that's packed to the brim and filled with flavor! Kind workers who are attentive to your needs! Lots of seating and a range of drinks too!

Not bad, tasty poke bowls, kind of like an Asian-fusion Chipotle. They have "curated" bowls if you're too lazy (like me) to make/choose your own fillings, but you can certainly mix-and-match to your heart's content of the various toppings and sauces. While tasty, I found 1) that the sauce (at least on mine) was a bit heavily applied; and 2) that the serving size is a bit on the light side. So if you're a big eater - or are just really hungry - you might need to order 2 bowls.

I enjoyed this place. I from New York so I've had my fair share of poke bowls and I immediately knew that the quality would not fair against the quality of New York. However it is the only restaurant in Storrs that provides Poke bowls. The quality of the food was subpar. But that is what I had expected. The sushi rice has terrible consistency. The toppings are definitely not fresh. But again it gets the job done. Essentially this is what I was expecting. It's good to an extent. I know the other people have given it 1 star but it's not that bad. However I do agree with people who say they skimp out on toppings. The ratio to toppings to rice is very poor. You definitely get way more rice than salmon or whatever topping you choose. Despite all of that, I'd say I'd go there again.

I was expecting more from this place but their food was only so so. First of all, all they do is bowls and burritos. I wish they did sushi rolls, it's not too difficult and fairly similar to the process of burritos. I went with a bowl and had: cold sushi rice, pineapple, red onions, corn, spring mix, edamame, green onions and marinated tofu. I had unagi and sweet chili sauce on the side. The flavors were alright. The red onion was very overpowering and it was just a cold rice bowl. I wasn't impressed. This restaurant needs to work on their food and how it meshes together.

They are extremely rude to customers. Nothing warrants treating your patrons poorly, especially when they make reasonable requests.

I simply cannot imagine ordering anything other than their Curry Ramen bowl from this point forward. Like one would legitimately be insane not to get it, provided you are an average fan of standard Thai-style curries like Red, Panang, or even Las Vegas style Three-color (Red+Green+Yellow). My suggested mod: Ask for your home-crafted noodles a little extra "QQ" or chewy al dente. And ask for a side of their home-made chili oil to step up the Szechuan influence. Normally I shun the fusion or "new-style" menu items, but this Curry Ramen bowl is stuff of dreams. Perfectly executed, temperature hot, unforgettably umami, and the exact drinkable curry broth viscosity that is no accident. This bowl is a champion, folks!

It had a lively energy without feeling chaotic. I ordered the beef ramen and added shrimp, and everything came out in under 10 minutes. The broth had a really nice depth of flavor with a mild kick; not overpowering, just enough warmth. The beef was tender, the shrimp addition was worth it, and the portion size was generous. The space itself is clean and modern. I appreciated being able to see the kitchen area and the bar setup; everything looked organized and well run. The booth seating was comfortable, and overall it felt like a great spot for a casual lunch or relaxed dinner. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

I ordered the $13 polk bowl, which consisted of white rice, cucumbers, seafood salad, shrimp, cucumber, and a variety of different sauces, including a ginger sauce. This bowl was spot on delicious! This was sushi in a bowl, for less money! All the different flavors just popped. Every ingredient was fresh. I never had a poke bowl before, but boy I could have this once a week. This is a newer location in Avon. The place is spotless. The restrooms are spotless. Now let me tell you about the young man who prepared my polk bowl. Since I told him I never had one, this young man took the time to review the menu with me. After I made my choice, he explained to me through each ingredient that he was putting into the bowl. I also ordered one of those sodas that you punch the top down and a marble goes into the soda, anyway you have to see it to believe it. He showed me exactly how to open the soda, which was a lot of fun. This young man was so respectful, and I think he was excited as I was about me being in there and tasting a poke bowl for the first time. Poke Brothers is only 7 miles for me. I will make it a habit going forward to stop here and enjoy whether it be lunch or dinner. Sorry for the no photographs, my phone was at Verizon getting traded in for this new iPhone 16. I love this thing. If you are in Avon, this would be a solid choice for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable, the restaurant is clean as a whistle, and the help, was so impressive. I love this place. This may be my New go to for eats.

I loved the taro tea and the poke bowl. The only thing I would say that was negative is they don't give enough raw fish in the two (2) scoops it comes with (they're tiny), so I was forced to pay for an extra scoop of raw fish to make it plentiful. Also, avocado shouldn't be an extra $1-$1.50 charge as it's supposed to be a core component of a poke bowl.
