I've never cried this hard during a waxing session. Not because of the pain, but the complete lack…read moreof respect and inconsiderate treatment by my esthetician. After beginning my session, she started making multiple comments about how long my bikini hair was and after a few strips she asks "Are you ok?" to which I replied with a chuckle "I'll live". Instead of something encouraging, or nice, or even a simple smile, she responds with "It's only going to get worse." Not something you want to hear from your waxer. Ever since I walked in her tone was cold, curt and professionally rude. Whenever I would flinch or move she would get annoyed and tell me to hold still, making my pain her inconvenience. After a 20 minute bikini wax, she told me to pluck away any stray hairs MYSELF with a tweezer and to apply lotion on myself. I'm not sure if this is standard practice here, but of the many waxing salons I've been to its the first time I was not taken care of from start to finish. After she left the room I burst out sobbing, again not because of expected pain, but the fact that I was made to feel like an inconvenience after exposing and irritating such a vulnerable and intimate area. I left the salon in tears and wax bits still on my skin. Even while paying, I was very obviously crying and she showed no concern over my distress. I can't speak on any of their services other than bikini, so if I was doing just my legs or my arms MAYBE it would have been a different experience. However, for such an intimate waxing area, it seemed like she was handling cattle rather than a person who is literally naked and getting hair torn out of her vagina.

They don't take reservations which I actually really liked! I was told the most you ever wait is about 15 min. My esthetician made me feel so relaxed and we actually had a pretty good conversation and she walked me through everything (where to put my legs, what areas were going to hurt more). I think I couldn't have asked for a better first Brazilian! I used their "Magic Wax" as I was afraid of the pain... and obviously having never been waxed with regular wax I can't really compare, but it still hurt.. so I dunno :p But overall it was a pretty great experience!
