UPDATE - 8/12/20: HUGE shout out to Jason Whittle,…read moreOperations Director for Edd Kirby, for reaching out and making things right! Again, it's not about making a mistake. We all do that. It's about making things right and Jason did so with grace and professionalism. We're super glad as we've always had great experiences at Edd Kirby and now look forward to continuing to do so! ORIGINAL POST - 8/11/20: I'm not one to leave bad reviews for places of business unless it's highly warranted. Even if an establishment makes multiple, horrible mistakes, so long as they make it right, they generally get a 5-star review and retain my business. Edd Kirby's Adventure Cars in Dalton, GA (specifically, their service department) didn't make the cut today. My wife went this morning for a scheduled routine oil change for our minivan. We also scheduled the brakes to be replaced. Since the brakes on this van had been fabulous (we got over 114,000 miles on them) we asked for the same factory parts to be put back on it (this was requested last week when the appointment was scheduled). When she arrived for the appointment, they didn't have the requested brakes nor had they ordered them. After agreeing to take what they had (as we had no choice at this point - we leave for a long trip today), she then had to wait over five hours for the work to be completed. Once completed, she was charged over $700. My issues are this. If something is going to cost $700, you should let the customer know this up front. I understand we live in 2020 and a brake job probably doesn't typically cost a couple hundred bucks anymore. But $700? I would think the least you could do is give the customer a heads up. Also, if the work is going to take 5 plus hours, it would be nice to know this as well. Furthermore, when you're asked 3 hours into the job "how much longer?" and you respond with "30-45 minutes," only to take 2 hours longer, yeah, that's not good either. Finally, when you fail to see how ridiculous the entire fiasco is, and refuse to make anything right, that's the last straw. This was the only place we've ever taken the van for servicing. Never again.

So to make a long story short, I had gotten a car with this dealership and i am very unsatisfied…read morewith it they took almost a year to get me my copy of the contract THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET AT THE POINT OF SIGNING said contract i had also gotten a mailer and had won a $1,000 visa gift card and i go to claim gift card and they had told me "sorry we are out of gift cards so here is a smart fit bit watch" and sent me on my way i would like some form of compensation over this issue or my $1,000 gift car because that would help me in so many ways

I visited Mtn View Nissan of Dalton with a retired NC educator to purchase a 2020 Nissan Versa S (…read more97,758 miles) advertised online at $9,289. He traveled from Western NC with a certified cashier's check ready to buy. The online photos showed the car in clean condition. In person, it had multiple undisclosed dents and dings, one rusted through the paint, disintegrated wiper blades, heavy dirt on all rubber, tree sap under the hood, and a filthy interior despite the salesman promising it would be detailed. During the test drive we heard an engine rattle. I removed the oil cap with the engine running and found severe blowby that covered my hand in oil, plus heavy sludge on the cap, indicating serious engine wear and neglected maintenance. A Nissan franchise dealer with trained technicians should have caught this before listing it. When we said we were cash buyers, the salesman disappeared then returned with paperwork showing $12,000 plus an $800 doc fee, totaling $12,800 -- a 37.8% increase over the $9,289 online price. When we mentioned comparable cars elsewhere, he told us to "consider where we were at," implying we should pay up because we traveled far. We offered $8,500 cash backed by KBB data. They refused. This was bait-and-switch pricing, false advertising through misleading photos, and failure to disclose mechanical defects.
