My 18 year old daughter just finished 2 years with the Academy of Dance Arts and is about to begin…read moreher first season at a professional company as a trainee. Honestly, the only regret we have regarding ADA is that we didn't find it sooner. Shortly after starting here and experiencing the caliber of instruction they provide, our daughter was thrilled with the immediate improvements in her dancing. I was thrilled as well, but also a tad miffed at myself that we had wasted so much of her time/ our money for so long elsewhere. She had previously been commuting from Naperville to Chicago to a studio where she was treading water in a sea of talent. If you were not one of the top dancers in the room, you were lost. Under 1 of the instructors ( half of her time there), she only learned by listening to the corrections she gave to the "really good girls" (my daughter's words ). She loved it there, but we didn't know how much better things could be. When quarantine happened and commuting wasn't an option, we looked locally and found ADA; it was less expensive and so close to our home in Naperville and seemed too good to be true. As a nurse, I was nervous about her starting back in a studio full of kiddos huffing and puffing during Covid (pre-vaccine) but was amazed at the level of precautions in place. The studios at ADA are beautiful: spacious, new, and clean. They had thought of everything to keep the students safe and dancing back in the studio again rather than the sometimes necessary zoom dancing (which ADA also executed really well). Sherry Moray, the founder and Artistic Director, saw our daughter's potential but immediately recognized some habits she had developed that had never been corrected. Sherry quickly got to the root of problems that had been challenging our daughter for years, and she began to improve dramatically. Sherry, Irina, and Diana are amazing instructors who continued to fix the cracks in the foundation and challenge her in new ways, all in a manner that built her up. They believed in her, and that helped her to believe in herself. So much of succeeding in dance comes down to confidence, and that is what made the change exponential. ADA has a family/ community feel, and the staff was/ is truly invested in my daughters' best interests. Louise (Studio Manager and fellow dance mom) was amazing in helping our daughter navigate a new studio and the world of competitions. She's an incredible resource and a kind person. Sherry frequently checked in with our daughter regarding her future plans and what she thought would be best when it came to auditioning, etc. Their expertise was invaluable, but the staff's level of caring and investment was such a pleasant surprise and something which I believe to be a rarity. Our daughter has been dancing for 15 years, and we have experience with 4 different dance studios, never has she grown as much as she has in these past 2 years at ADA. It has truly been such a great experience!

If you're searching for a dance studio that caters to everyone from first-time dancers to high school seniors aspiring to have a professional career in dance, this is the place for you. We recently attended the year-end dance showcase, and it was like watching a live, spectacular performance from the later rounds of "So You Think You Can Dance" (SYTYCD). You know, the point in the season where the dancers are exceptional, looking like professionals and performing beautifully crafted routines? That's exactly what we experienced. Melissa, a professional dancer and now owner of the studio, has transformed her passion for dance into a studio where others can learn and grow. The teachers and guest choreographers (some names below are former contestants on SYTYCD), including Imani, Jacob, Trevor, Sydney, Jody, Abbey, Scott, Kaela, Patrick, Robert, Channing, Sienna, and Caroline, all bring their own professional skills and artistic visions to the studio. So, whether you have an 8-year-old who's never danced before or a 16-18-year-old on the path to a dance scholarship, look no further. Thank you, Envision team, for everything you do!

I am super impressed!…read more This is going to be a long winded review. Let me start off by saying my 11 year old daughter has done competitive cheer for 4 or 5 years. The team she was on was good but never won the super big competitions. My daughter was discouraged so much that she wanted to stop cheer. We offered to switch teams but she said she wanted to try something else. She loves to dance as well as gymnastics/tumbling so we investigated some dance schools in the area. A year or so ago while she was still doing cheer we signed her up for a recreational class at Xtreme so she could try it out. She enjoyed it very much so we decided to sign her up for one of their more competitive teams this season. She wanted to try out for company but we didn't know how that would go since she was new, we didn't know if there were politics that may keep a new student from making one of the higher level teams or if she was even good enough to make the team. We explained to our daughter not to get her hopes up, however when the time came she made it all the way up on the Gold Level team, she was ecstatic! Xtreme has many different levels which will probably cater to most all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Now that we are five months into this season and completed two regional competitions I can leave an honest review...my review is that Xtreme is awesome! My daughter's team won her first competition and took 2nd in her second competition but that doesn't tell the whole story. Xtreme wins everything, well not literally everything but almost lol. In the overall scoring they took 1st overall and had three teams in the top five. During the awards all you hear the announcer saying is "Xtreme Dance Force, Xtreme Dance Team" over and over as different Xtreme teams/lines win. When my daughter did competitive cheer there were always those two or three teams that always seemed to win everything, well it appears Xtreme is one of those schools/teams that win almost everything and our daughter couldn't be happier to be a part of it. Staff and teachers seem great. Being our first year my wife and I always have lots of questions, the staff probably wants to strangle us sometimes but they're always very helpful and friendly. My daughter says the teachers are all very nice and encouraging. She's already taking about next year and wanting to do more dances and try out jazz and lyrical next season. I'd highly recommend Xtreme whether you're looking for just recreational dance instruction or highly competitive levels of dance for your child.

My daughter has danced at Inspire for over 8 years and is on their Company team. She loves every minute of it! But with that said, Inspire is nationally known for creating world-class dancers. I have seen countless performances and videos of their work, and I am never let down by the technique, versatility, and advanced skill and artistry. I have had contacts/friends from inspire for over a decade, and I have seen so much growth from the company. They were always talented, as Anne Forrest knows how to train dancers, but they have started working with top-notch choreographers, which highlights the dancers' versatility and technique. I have never been a student at Inspire, so I can't speak on the culture or environment of the studio. But what i can say is that Anne knows what she's doing and know have to train technically-advanced and marketable dancers. Due to their reputability, they have kind of become a pre-professional company. This is a testament to the talent and training of the studio, but I also know that this is not for everyone, as some people aim to utilize dance as a hobby or outlet rather than a career path. With that said, a dancer will definitely get an advanced dance education here, and that can be hard to find nowadays. If you look into Inspire's graduates and their accomplishments, you will for sure see why they are so well-respected and nationally recognized. Another additive for some is that the studio is kind of a hidden gem... they are well-respected and very competitive, but they are not a studio that is all about social media presence and fame. this has upsides and downsides, but in the the long run, this is beneficial for your child's progression, privacy, and learning environment. All in all, Inspire is known for incredible training, and any child that is passionate about dance would benefit so much from attending.
