My wife applied for two open positions and went through multiple rounds of interviews. She was…read moreinvited down several times, met with the staff and administration, and was even given details about the role as though she were already a strong candidate. They canceled and rescheduled meetings more than once, stretching the process out over weeks. In the end, after all of that time and effort, she was simply told they had already hired someone else. It was a very disappointing experience. We understand that not every candidate gets hired, but the way the process was handled giving the impression of a job offer, taking up so much of her time, and not being transparent was unprofessional and discouraging.

The teachers completely ignored my struggles with speech, learning difficulties, pencil grasp, and social anxiety. They basically left me to flail while punishing me constantly throughout the day for various reasons relating to the above. Specifically, Shayna Subar was my first grade Morah and screamed at me on the top of her lungs when I was not looking in the prayer book. She then became assistant principal and threatened to expel me for listening to secular music on my dismantle during lunch hour. She agreed to let me graduate after I attend 3 sessions with a psychologist and do extra homework because apparently I was mentally ill to be listening to secularmusic. She told me I will be a bum on the street in a few years. She ruined my life and I will never forget what she did to me on top of the other teachers allowing me to flail and struggle. I wanted to end my life many times thinking about these experiences.

The education coupled with the Christian tradition and the array of activities gave my children a well-rounded education. The teachers are dedicated to their students. Many also coach teams or moderate clubs after school. They provide "extra help" to students who require it. They don't leave when the bell rings. Graduates have gone on to top notch schools as well as middle tier schools and also RCC, just as students who have graduated from the New Jersey Catholic schools or the NY public schools. Graduates have received ample scholarships for academic performance and have been awarded significant financial aid awards too. Albertus tuition is significantly less than their New Jersey Catholic school counterparts. When deciding on a high school for your child, the best approach is to contact each school under consideration, ask for their college data, read their brochures, check out the websites, talk with teachers, current parents, students, and graduates. Also arrange for your child to visit for a day to get a feel for the atmosphere. Attend a sports contest, concert, play, or art show. These are usually advertised. If you and your child are lucky enough to make the "right" decision (best school for your child and it may not necessarily be Albertus Magnus), you will know when he or she says as my student did, "I love Albertus!"

I wouldn't waste your time or hard earned money on Albertus Magnus. Most of the educators there are simply unable to find a "real" job in a public school, and the rest are just there temporarily to gain experience so that they can move on. There no longer exists the teachers that are there for the students and plan on sticking around to guide them through their formidable years and assist in the transition to college. The guidance department is a complete sham with hardly any experience, knowledge or contacts. My advice, either save your money or spend it on a REAL school.
