Overall, going to this school has been a very positive experience for me. Unlike schools like High…read moreRoad, this place has an environment based on love rather than fear, and the students thrive because of it. I feel like I have to mention High Road because of how bad of an experience I had there. I like to think maybe a parent considering that school may see this and reconsider. High Road was very cold and strict, the staff was almost inhuman, and violence was the answer to every problem their students had. The teachers here feel very human, and they very much care about their students. Their problems were de-escalated rather than escalated further. The students are so much less violent than that of High Road, but they obviously house the same type of kids. It may not be a perfect school, but it's leagues ahead of High Road in the way they treat their students. I was very hesitant to trust this school because of my experience with High Road, but I am very glad I did. Having said that Park is not for everyone. Student's must take ownership of the opportunities Park offers, even in lower school. Park will not spoon feed your child. If I have one criticism it is that the science curriculum (particularly) in High School could be more rigorous and advanced.

As someone who's child had home care for 2 years I was very apprehensive to send my child to any daycare. Also, being new to the area I didn't have a "shoulder to lean on" so to speak. We had planned on looking at all of the centers in the area before making a decision and even visited 2 of them prior to BP. Upon entering BP and meeting the director (Holly) and a couple of the teachers, I was already sold before they were done there presentation of the center. Their was something warm and inviting that we got from the folks at BP, that we did not feel elsewhere. Fast forward almost 1 year later and our intuition fortunately proved to be spot on. From Day 1 they have provided an excellent environment for our daughter to develop both mentally and socially and they constantly are doing the extra "little things" that we as parents want for our kids. Our child's teachers have been great and I'm in the center enough to know that all age groups are getting the same genuine care and attention. As a matter of fact I liked BP so much I decided to have another child, just so I could send them there. All jokes aside. If you are looking for quality, attentive and safe care at a very reasonable price, I would look no further.

There is so much to learn from him, both as an educator and as a mentor. This experience also gave me insight into other Kumon Centers, as we frequently visited other centers in the DMV area. I can confidently say that the learning environment, knowledge of the Kumon and school curriculum and overall helpfulness of the staff is unparalleled. I think the biggest testament to the type of environment that is fostered at this center is the desire of the students not only to stay until program completion - but then to return as employees. Many of the graders at this location are former students - which speaks volumes about the close-knit feel of this center. Overall, would HIGHLY recommend this center - as both a former employee and as a current instructor.
