I pay thousands of $$$ a year for child care at East End House. I went to drop off my kids one day, and as I was trying to drive out of the parking lot, a person blocked my car from behind. Another lady blocked me in the front, and a third driver wanting to use Spring street as a way to get to 3rd street blocked me from the side. Some of these people wanted to use the food pantry and some are parents pick up / dropping off their kids.
Once, the next day in fact, I came to pick up my kids at East End House and a gentleman blocked Spring st right in front of East End house so I couldn't even make it to the parking lot. He got out of his car, 7ft tall, walked over to my car and said "If you don't know how to drive, why get a license" Clearly his tactic was: use intimidation to get ahead on the road and in life. I am pretty sure he was a parent who had just picked up his kids at EEH.
A third time I came to the parking lot, and parked and a person on crutches (possibly employed at EEH) told me that I cut her off?!
OK, I was just trying to park so that I can get the spot so that I can pick up my kids, and I did leave room in front of my car so that that person could walk to their car.
This is so stressful. I just want to keep my day job, and to keep my day job I need a child care program. Hence I need to drop off / pick up my kids at the childcare program. Why are people who use the facilities at EEH so discourteous? Why isn't East End House doing something about this?
It is unfortunate that this review focuses on the PARKING NIGHTMARE at east end house rather than reviewing the quality of care. If I cannot even PICK UP OR DROP OFF my KIDS at EEH without suffering through stress, then whats the point? I am paying half my salary for this child care.
Is this what I am paying for? I have started looking at other Non-profits for child care. read more
