Paid the bill on July 7, it was $125.00, checked it on the Combined Utility app on July 18 it had gone up to $225.00. The week it went up so high I was in Florida for 7 days, no one at my house. I don't use the stove, if I cook I use the air fryer, instant pot or crock pot. I'm not at home most of the day because I'm at work, Monday through Thursday, I disconnect anything that might be using residual energy. I called the office and asked why my bill was so high, the response was "It's been so hot you should set the air on 78"(that's what I keep it on) she also told me that ceiling fans use a lot of energy. Checked it on August 16, it's now $249.00 I haven't used my washer or dryer, because it's cheaper for me to go to the laundromat. I would hate to see what the bill would be if I had been using those two things. My niece lives in Simpsonville in a 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom 2 story house and keeps the air on 70 and hers bill runs about the same as mine( make it make sense).Seems like to me they're charging whatever they want to charge, then try to pacify you with that explanation of " it's been so hot", mine went up even though we had a week of cooler weather and my air never came on because it was 72 degrees in my house. The other reviewer is right no competition!!!!! I can say the Combined Utility app is a decent thing to have downloaded. PRAYING FOR COOLER CONDITIONS and for all customers dealing with this same issue. The 2 star rating is for these high power bills! read more
