The lanes are 50 meter long ( what I prefer instead of 25 m). It is very well renovated. But a bit disappointed that it is overwhelming WOOOWW-architecture. And it took very long to renovate it... Appart from that I only gave 3 stars because it has limited lanes and it is always crowded. I tried 9:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00. I don't even dare to go in the evening after work ;) As all swimmingpools in Switzerland it is 1 big fitting room. So don't be to ashamed! Worth a visit, but don't forget 5 sfr for the lockers (they can not give you a coin). PS: Not really made for kids.

Up top, there's a great kiddie splash pool with a big mushroom fountain in the middle and a frog slide on the side. Kids have a blast in it. There's also a full size swimming pool for those who like to swim in water that's more than knee deep. The river bath below is cool and jammed packed on sunny hot summer days with divers, swimmers, floaters, and sun-bathers alike. The cafe serves up delicious fresh food/salads and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The small playground next to the cafe definitely come in handy for those with kids who want to enjoy a bite in peace at the picnic tables. Plus the whole place is fully enclosed so you don't have to worry about your toddler breaking out. The fact that this awesome place in Zurich actually has FREE entrance really makes it as good as it gets! :)

CHF 7 lets you in... but we got discount tickets at CHF 3 from my company. :) The bar sells food and drinks, or you can bring your own picnic. A free pitcher of water with plastic cups was laid out on a small table. There is a changing room to hang your clothes, and we laid out our towels in the last bit of shade. No one except little fish actually swim in the little square of water in the middle of the platform. We went out into the lake and swam to one of the floating platforms. The water was a bit chilly at first, but it was a nice contrast to the hot sun. Afterwards, we rinsed off at the outdoor shower and then laid out in the sun to dry before heading back to the office. What a fabulous way to spend lunch! :)

Pretty awesome way to spend a summer afternoon, if you ask me. The swimming stretch is quick-flowing, often lifeguarded, and has several ladders; during nice days, expect to deal with people hanging out on the ladders, trying to decide if they want a dip or not. It's totally fair game to bypass them and jump in. (And if that's your style, there's a rope swing on the opposite shore). The playground has both water and dry sections for the 2-to-8 crowd; the climbing structures are all pretty small, so more adventurous kids may be happier swimming. The buildings in the center of the island have an outdoor restaurant, plus bathrooms and warm showers. In the middle of the island, there's a run-of-the-river hydro plant --- good if you like crashing water. More impressive falls are on the south-east corner. One thing to know ahead of time: The western third of the island is a de facto nude area, predominantly male and frequently gay. Everyone's pretty mellow, but it does make for a marked transition just past the powerplant.

People sunbathe and swim, and also smoke. A lot. Which seemed surprising given the healthy outdoor nature of the place. The water was quite cool, having just warmed up from winter temperatures. The current is very strong and at the end of the swim area is a life guard to be sure you are out to the steps before getting stuck in the hydro-electric facility! I am not a swimmer, so I just tested out the water on the steps. Some people just float the stretch from entry steps to exit steps but a few strong swimmers try to beat the current going the opposite way. Few can. My husband is an extremely strong swimmer and he could hardly keep even against the current. It's sort of like swimming in place in an exercise pool, but with great scenery all around. Perfect for a break on a hot afternoon.

The lanes are only 25 m (pity because I prefer 50 m :) ) You can lie outside when the sun is there. During the weekend the swimming pool can be crowded !! During the week it gets a bit crowded after work. But during the day it is perfectly fine. Not too much people. A downside for me, it is a bit far from where a live. But you can go with tram 2 to it. Biking from the city takes approx. 15 min. Tip: Locker 2 Sfr

The right side (with your back towards the city) is the most hip place. Here you have a nice bar with sometimes night events. You find a more young audience. You can play Volleyball and here are a lot of kids also skating. The food is good. You have to try for sure the burgers. The left side of the river you also have a bar. and a private section only for women to bath. at this side you also have the life guards, dressing rooms and showers. There are small lockers and bigger ones. The bar lost a bit of his charms after the renovation last year. They are slow to prepare the food (last time I had to wait 20 minutes for french fries - it was a weekday, so not too much people around). Lets hope that this year they improved there services :) If you have something to inflate, there is a pump close to the lockers. It is very useful if you have a boat to inflate :) This is for me a very nice place in Kreis 5 - it is very local, you don't have the tourists from the lake and you can swim, drink and eat !

I've only been on the one side (the right side, with your back towards the city, thanks Sebastien). I loved the little restaurant because it has a nice shaded patio and across the walkway you can sit closer to the water and they provide quite a bit of seating. The place has a pretty hip and alternative feel, and I always dig that because it reminds me of Austin! The graffiti is even pretty. The beer prices were good, and the focaccia bread was delicious and pretty big. Personally, I'm not a big fan of sunbathing here. It's so packed and there isn't any grass! For me, it's not so relaxing, but I'd come with friends for having some fun. Otherwise, I prefer Rentenwiese, less people, quite, and relaxing.
