Yes, a wonderful castle to visit, I agree. I'd seen it from a distance several times but yesterday…read morewas the first time I saw it properly. It was much larger than I'd expected and there are lovely views from the site too. Open from Easter to the end of October, it costs £3 per adult to go inside, though it's free to wander around the perimeter, taking various nearby paths. There's a small car park right beside the castle and another, much larger one, across the road, and both are free. There's a nice little gift shop for souvenirs and cards, and well looked after public toilets to one side.

You can climb the towers or go down the stairs to the kitchens and the dank dungeons! There is a souvenir shop and a display explaining the history of Kidwelly Castle which changed hands often, first owned by the Normans and then passed to English Lords and was often taken by the Welsh after bloody battles. Kidwelly's Coat of Arms and shows a Black Cat. There is a legend that the black cat was the first creature seen alive after the great plague hit the town. It was honoured as a symbol of salvation and deliverance and used as Kidwelly's heraldic symbol. The Castle is reputedly haunted.

The gentlemen working there were fantastic, but the house itself is just so-so…read more The house was built in 1470 and currently furnished with replica furniture from 1500 period. It has three floors. The ground floor has the visitors entrance, a replica kitchen, and tiny garden. Going up one floor gives you the family eating area and various games from the period. The top floor is a bedroom with a bonus semi-view to the sea. Because everything is a replica, everything can be touched and examined, which makes it great for kids. However, if you're looking for a true period home you may be disappointed. If you do go, I strongly recommend you chat with the workers. I usually don't, but found them very informative about the kitchen's chimney, possible connectors to the building next door, indoor plumbing for the loo, children's games, and more. All of this review is to say, if you have 15-20 minutes and want to see something from historical Tenby or to get out of the sun, go. If you're looking for a historical home, perhaps skip this one.

The staff were super friendly and enthusiastic about the house. The house is overall very sweet,…read morebut it's a very quick trip as the size of it is just small. However, it's very historically interesting and learning about the man who lived there and his occupations was very interesting - (no spoilers haha!). I would definitely recommend this to National Trust members as it's free entry for them, however if you're not a member it might be worth skipping here as National Trust can be pricey. They've tried their best to make it as child-friendly as possible with toys and games from the time period, but if you have young children it may not be the best place, especially if they're eager to get to the beach! Overall, great for adults and older people for a quick historical endeavour, but not idealistic for young children.

This is a striking old building which has been renovated and, these days, is a gallery and gift…read moreshop. Originally, it was listed as a 'a lock up house with a room over it in which a magistrates court and parochial meetings were held'. In 1858 it was falling into very bad repair so the court and magistrates relocated to a new building. The Town Hall then became a 'Mechanics Institute' which included a library. In 1881 a clock tower was built and in 1912 another floor was added. Easy to find as it's up a very unusual double stairway (unfortunately I didn't capture that in my photo) and can be seen from many parts of the town.

The queens hall in narberth is great! A real community hall where all sorts of events take place…read more It has a brilliant stage, and many music events are held. There are a quite a few local bands which are very popular, and this is the place to come and watch them. Christmas time is tgood as special acoustic night etc are organised. Battles of the bands and such like. There is also occasionally big name bands playing here, pendulum played recently! The prices are great, and always very reasonalbe. There is a good bar, and lots of seating around the edge and at the back of the main floor area. They ahve a very good policy and underaged people have a wrist band on, so they dont get served alcohol. There is also a cafe that is open during the day. And an art gallery upstairs, which showcases local artisst exhibitions aswel as visiting artists. All in all this is a fantic community hall type place, and there should be more of them!
