It is with sincere buyer's remorse that I post my first ever 1-star Yelp review for the sake of protecting other consumers from extreme disappointment and frustration. Buyer beware!!!! Not only has Mermaid Water Systems aka Dyco fallen short on the new installation of a water softener system by not adding a float to the brine tank to prevent the salt water from spilling over and killing a 8 X 8 foot stretch of grass, they're customer service and persistent lack of communication is beyond unacceptable. I've spoken with the receptionist and the owner, Ted a total of 4 times within a 30 day period requesting the new system be repaired. No one called to update me on the repair order and once again I called on 3/31/21and was advised by Ted that a new battery was ordered for the solar panel. I asked Ted yet again about adding a float for the overflowing brine tank as he forgot to bring one with him when he came out to troubleshoot the faulty water softener system in March. It's now 10 days after my last phone call to Mermaid Water Systems aka Dyco and still no communication with an ETA for repair. Fellow consumers, take a look at the photos I posted and seriously consider whether or not you want to spend $2,900 for a water softener system given the fact that Mermaid Water Systems aka Dyco's customer service is severely lacking! read more

Liars, and zero care about their business. The father Ted is a lying scumbag. I wanted a replacement submersible pump for our aerator after Hurricane Ian and he sold me on a new "system". It was supposed to be like the one my neighbor has had for over 7yrs with zero issue but instead I got garbage and lies. The filter wasn't built correctly so after dealing with the Yankee Carpetbagger Ted he finally got mad and didn't want to account for himself or his business so he pawned me onto his wife (also lying scumbag). Lastly, his little scumbag seed Chris came to install (another) new filter after 9 months but thar one wasn't correct either. After a couple more trips and lies upon bullshit The system finally worked... but only for 3 months and now they just don't answer and hang up on you. Go ANYWHERE else except here!!! Ted and Chris and scumbag, Yankee Carpetbaggers that only take your money and you're a FOOL to use them after reading any on their reviews! Absolutely stay away from this company....They are nice until they get your money. Our well failed after only 1.8 years. What a scam for over $5K..... I have been asking for help but they consistently lie about coming to check it. Absolute stay away from this company.... I just called Thomson Well Drilling. They will come and check it. read more

I was using city water for my irrigation system, recommended by my landscaper. I ask him if I should install a well, he indicated no, just use the city water, don't waste your money on drilling a well. I used city water for one full year at a touch under $2,400, I was surprised of the expense of Florida water. I recently Googled well Drillers in Sarasota and up popped, Dyco Water Systems, I called and a young man answered the telephone and said how can I help you. I told him about my dilemma. He told me I'd have to talk to his father, as he is the man that solves peoples problems. His father answered the telephone very politely and said how can I help you. I told him my story about the high water bills, and he said let me come over and take a look if your situation and give you some ideas. He indicated to me that if I drilled a well I would save a tremendous amount of money. He gave me the estimate on drilling the well, and I was pleasantly surprised how fair it was. He told me I would have to get an electrician to do the electrical work, I ask him do you know any good electricians, he said I will take care of it for you, putting me at rest as I didn't want to be hunting around for and electrician to do the job. A few weeks later he and his son came in with his rig and drill the well ran all the wires even underneath the driveway. I was pleasantly surprise that when I return home after the work was done there wasn't a big mess that I had a cleanup. I wouldn't even give 1 star, but there is no option for 0 stars. They sell sub-standard product and do not honor their written warranty. The water system we purchased from them lasted less than 2 months before we started having problems. They don't have the technical ability to properly repair the systems, they only install and take the payment. When they tried to repair the system, they caused more problems with it. For example, during one repair they turned up the pressure so high it eventually blew a gasket. In the end we had to have the entire system replaced and this time we used a better company. read more
