This has become a part of our weekend tradition! We wake up late after sleeping in, cuddle in bed to a movie before finally rolling out, clean the house together, and then stroll to the Duvall Grill for the best breakfast or lunch. They have excellent food, atmosphere, and staff. The owner is there and always says hello and helps with the service. The bacon is amazing. We use to order an extra plate of it to share. On the weekends they service brunch menu late which is really convenient. They are great about making adjustments to meet your needs. A few of our favorites are the Duvall Breakfast, Snoqualmie Breakfast, Rueben Sandwich, Chicken Marsala, and Chicken with Brie. The fries are too good to pass on, they make them a special way that adds a crunchy coating. I suggest getting fries with breakfast, lunch, and dinner instead of the side option of potatoes. Everything about this place was great and I didn't even know it existed! I had never been to Duvall before but my husband and I were overdue for a visit to a friend that lives there. We hit up the Tap Room for some dinner and drinks on a random Wednesday night. It was a nice evening so the patio tables were full. We decided to pony up to the bar and order there. The bartender Sarah was friendly and speedy. I ordered a smoked apple chicken spinach salad and my husband got the Reuben. My salad was huge and full of flavorful smokey chicken all tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. The best part about the salad was the goat cheese croutons. Yes, these were in fact lightly deep fried chunks of goat cheese! I have not tasted something that good in a long time and I don't even really like goat cheese! The food was really good and the service was top notch as well. Once the patio cleared out a bit we grabbed a table in the sun and enjoyed good 'ol Duvall with a drink in hand. The price of my meal was not justified by its taste. I had the classic cheeseburger and honestly nothing about it really wowed me. I found it to be flavorless and a little dry, I didn't like the bun, and my sweet potato fries were highly disappointing. And sweet potato fries are high on my list of favorite things. They were very mushy/soggy and yet burnt. It's hard to describe, but they were not good. My husband enjoyed his blue cheese burger and our friends enjoyed their meals (they both got the specials for the night - one was fish and the other steak), but commented on the hefty price tag for their experience as well. We found ourselves here on a Friday night around 8 p.m. with some friends who live in town. The grill is small and the entrance is awkward, making us constantly dodge customers entering and leaving for the 20 minutes we were waiting for a table. Though the restaurant was clearing out, service was a bit slow...we were in a corner and I felt like we had to track down our waitress a few times. read more

Went here for dinner last Saturday and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of their food. I appreciated the fresh tasting ingredients and overall decliousness. I tried their special of the evening which was fish tacos and they were really good. The atmosphere is a bit cold with the high ceilings and concrete floor and for a Saturday night it wasn't particularly busy but then again I think that was my second time through the Duvall area so maybe that is standard?? It took about a half hour for us to get our food which I felt was a bit long but the service was friendly. I'm excited to come check this place out for breakfast! read more

Had breakfast with the folks here a couple of weeks ago. It's a bit a trek to get out to Duvall - but if the weather's nice (which it was this particular sunday morning) it's actually a pretty scenic drive. The Duvall Grill itself is quaint - in pretty much the same way that the whole main street of Duvall is quaint. The inside is a simple, sparce, no-frills little space. I did like the photography on the wall at the time though. Very nice photos for sale. I assume that they were probably from a local photographer. The waitstaff was all very nice and cordial and the manager even made his way around to check that everyone was enjoying their meals (nice touch!) Food was pretty good! I had the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The old man attempted to put down a couple of their pancakes which were absolute goliaths. These things were HUGE! Potatoes were good and the eggs were nicely done. Overall, I'm giving a solid 3 stars. Gotta give it another go or two to check for consistency. However, this might be a while as the trek out to Duvall is a bit of a haul for me. Gotta wait for another sunny day road trip. Which reminds me that my next review just might be on Seattle weather....grr.... read more

Oh man, the Brisket Poutine is amazing. Delicately cooked brisket over a bed of cheese and fries swimming in the richest French onion gravy you have ever tasted. You could just order this, but you'd be missing out on the rest of this solid tavern fare with a dash of Texas rib eye and a side of the warm, welcoming bearded service we've come to expect in the valley. Grill gets a three and the Tap Room gets a five, so I settled on the average. Tap Room is the place to go! Monday and Tuesday nights the restaurant side is closed and they have a bar menu that has some awesome options. Fish tacos, chicken nachos, and a blue cheese bacon burger that I swear has crack in it. leaves you wondering how soon you can come back. Nice choices of beers. Bill the bartender manages to keep things hoping and still have time to chit chat. I have been to the Grill for breakfast and dinner. Can be a bit hit or miss, but the food is solid and some nice options. Try the meatloaf even if you don't like meatloaf! Nice to have a place like this in town where we can drop in a grab a bite and brew. read more

****Update**** My wife and I finally had dinner here last Friday and it was outstanding!! I had the Beef Tenderloin and my wife had the meatloaf. Both are severed with mashed potatoes and collard greens, fantastic!! We didn't save room fro desert but we got one anyway!! The Chocolate-Flan cake was great!! Food is great here!!! Service is great as well. We have only had lunch here, but every time is good! I like the Big Mama sandwich, and the fries are excellent!! Ask for a Shiner Bock!! Give it a try! read more

What a cute little place! My friends and I stopped here after a hike at Cherry Creek Falls to get our traditional after hike brewski and some nibbles. We walked into the restaurant side and were greeted by a friendly smiling woman, who directed us to the bar side when we asked. We walk into the bar side to see cozy booths and many beer taps. Yesssss.... my precious... We sit down and our server is just a doll! So friendly and warm, I felt like I was in someones home. I got a delicious beer, Schoolhouse Pale Ale and the largest BLT I had ever seen in my entire life. In fact, the gal who brought it to the table laughed because she thought it had to be for one of the men folk I was dining with. Nope, it was for little ole me. A table behind us got what looked to be some amazing fish and chips, and my friends split a Reuben and a Caesar salad. Everyone enjoyed their choices and the respite from the great outdoors. I had half of a gigantic BLT along with a heaping portion of sweet potato fries to take home with me, because it was all just too large to consume at the time. Loved this little spot. One of the great things about the Duvall Grill, is that they bring together some great flavors, without over-flavoring the food. It's tasty and flavorful, without being overwhelming or pretentious. Drop in anytime; they do an equally great job of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Be aware, though, that the Grill is popular, so on busy evenings, you may be waiting for awhile, and things can get a bit crowded at the door. Also, the acoustics of the dining room is very live, and it's a restaurant that's very popular with families, so don't go, expecting a quiet evening. But, in all, great food, great service, and a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, whether you're a Duvallian, or from someplace beyond. read more

Simply the best. Look, I don't use Yelp all that much. I have to really "mean it" to take the time to find a place hours later and write a review. Yeah, I'm a foodie, and I tend to ignore reviews and dive in to try things for myself. I've had burgers prepared by Masterchiefs and Iron Chefs, and I've been around the world exploring food by choice, by design, by plan, and by whim. We stopped here totally on a whim. Just wanted to grab a bite and keep the little one pinned in a booth for a few minutes. Nothing fancy. Nothing special. Nothing to get excited about. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Sure, the service was initially exactly what you'd expect at 2:30 in the afternoon. Sufficient, but not spectacular. Friendly, but understandably relaxed. But the food! Oh my gods and angels, THE FOOD! Without a doubt, the best burger of my life! The Gorgonzola and the aioli and the perfectly cooked beef...the crisp veggies...the locally made fresh bun... I don't have words. I just, I just don't have words. Unspeakably good. Please, if you read this, believe me that this place is worth a visit! I would give them ten stars if I could. read more

My husband and I went here for a mid afternoon date. We had lunch and beers. I had a salad with goat cheese and he had a Caesar salad. Both were good and not overpriced. They also have a decent beer selection. The Firestone IPA is my favorite. They also have local brews and a full bar. The restaurant is separate from the taproom. We sat in the taproom and watched football. It wasn't crowded or noisy, and the bartender was attentive. When I got the last part of the keg (and not a full beer), she didn't charge. All in all, a good experience. I only have four stars because their mimosas were a little pricy. read more

My wife and I eat here a couple of times a month. We generally sit in the bar with a bunch of regulars. They have one of the best rotating tap handles around. Always a lot of local beers on tap. Very yummy. I wish they are open later, but I guess small town hours are different. Their menu is pretty narrow covering only burgers, salads, and a handful of other stuff. Burgers are HUGE. I ordered a kids size and my husband and I were surprised and made us wonder what his full size burger meal would be...yup it was gianormous (and my husband's a big guy). But my friends, the food was DELICIOUS and high quality ingredients were used. Worth it FRIES ARE TO DIE FOR. I love fries, and could eat them all day everyday and their regular fries are fresh, crispy and not that frozen garbage you find elsewhere. The risotto is delicious and savory. I love their breakfast too. Their eggs Benedict has the most delicious ham. My Canadian husband was actually impressed ;) I'll usually get one of their hashes since its dressed up scrambled eggs with veggies. I think they also make very tasty salads too. There were a couple times the lettuce was slightly on the wilty side but overall they make a mean salad. I used to love tipsy cow in Redmond for their Rockstar burger but their spotty service and gross soggy fries are no match for Duvall Grill's food and friendly staff. My husband also says they make a darn good Long Island too. :) Between the Grange and the Grill, these are really the only two places we eat at in Duvall. Amazingly juicy hamburgers. Locally sourced foods (actually saw a lady selling them mushrooms while I was having dinner!), sweet potato fries were perfectly crunchy on the outside and not mushy on the inside. The right side is great family friendly seating and delivers comfort food specials that make you miss grandma. The left side features a full service bar with over 10 beers on tap, mostly very local, which I love. The only thing that keeps me from giving them a 5 is the price, but I keep going back because the food and service is great! read more

Came here after a hike to Cherry Creek Falls with my family. Food is really good. Service was a little slow however the staff was really nice - just to keep in mind if in a rush. First thing to remember when coming to Duvall: it's a SMALL town, so don't expect high class service and 5 star food. That being said, this is our (my boyfriend and I) favorite favorite place to eat that's local. Their burger's are absolutely to die for. I can never bass up the Bacon and Blue with a side of sweet potato fries. The sauce that comes with the sweet potato fries is awesome. (Hint: if you get the regular fries ask for the sweet potato fry sauce on the side. You won't regret it.) Enough about the sauce... The decor is eclectic and constantly changes due to the fact that local artists create the artwork. I like looking at all of the new and interesting pieces. Cute small down ambiance reminiscent of Cheers! I've had the wings and wild boar fries several times, and always they're consistently great! When they have their fried chicken on special, it would be criminal not to order it...the batter is out of this world yet the chicken is tender and not dried out. The short ribs are a bit too mushy and fatty for my taste but the grits that come with it could compete with good ole' fashion Charleston grits. I usually sit at the bar area because I like to try their new beers on tap, and there's always something new to try! Though I found this place by accident after a long day working on the farm, I now make a special detour to drop by. Environment/Service: A combination bar (on one side) and restaurant (on the other) establishment with the best parts of both. Breakfast in Duvall is sparse and bad typically, but the DGrill saves us time and time again. The service is good and consistent but their usually understaffed for peak times (two ladies doing the bar side and restaurant side both) with nobody to expo (leaving the occassion when the food is cold/late), don't let this dissuade you, but come relaxed. Food: Great breakfast in the greasy-spoon style, don't be afraid to do the Eggs Benedict or Veggie Scramble, both have proven to be Ole Faithful for us. The kids love the blueberry pancakes and the locally sourced bacon and breads. For lunch, the burgers are amazing (not frozen and handmade), the side-salads are local and very tasty. Booze: Great rotating tap selection of local favorites and regional microbrews, 11 handles to try and consistently a surprise for even the most hop-headed of tasters. We eat breakfast/lunch here every Saturday. I love the servers (we have a couple regulars we look for when we come in). Most of the Duvall Grill's food that I have actually eaten is superb. The "Big Mama" sandwich is a fantasy-come-true. The eggs benedict is to die for. I want to go into the kitchen and put a straw in the hollandaise sauce. Even the oatmeal is faboo. The bacon is the best bacon on the planet and the turkey is incredible (both on the "Big Mama" sandwich). Although I've eaten dinner and lunch a few times here, I'm going to limit my comments to Sunday brunch. In a word, unbeatable. My wife and I eat brunch here about every other Sunday. Do yourself a favor: Huevos Rancheros (no chorizo) and a Bloody Mary. (Man, who ever thought fried potatoes served with huevos could be so good?) There are lots of criteria that I use to evaluate a restaurant but high on my list is consistency. The Grill is consistently good. The food, the drinks, and the service. Plus, there are two sides to the place, the dining room and the tap room. Since kids are not allowed in the tap room, you have a choice of kid friendly or no kids. A real bonus. read more
