Used Durham School Services for our wedding in Grass Valley. The first bus, showed up with 0 people on it. The bus driver decided to leave the hotel without any passengers, without checking around the hotel. This is despite me leaving messages and having confirmation that the bus would leave from the parking lot the week prior. We were able to get guests to run around the hotel and redirect the driver towards the back of the hotel, but many of our guests ended up taking ubers since they needed to get there earlier. Not ideal. When we called the Durham after to discuss, they took no responsibility for the additional burden. Know there are not many bus companies up there so not many options, but try to ask for your contract to be revised to include additional considerations. In general, would not recommend if possible. read more

We have had two years of experience with Durham getting my kids safely to and from school. I have to admit, I was nervous at first, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. My son with special needs started riding the bus at 3 years old and he LOVES it. Our sweet, patient, kind, amazing bus driver is such a gift to us. He put me at ease right away and made our mornings so much better. What a great way to start the day! Chantelle, Lisa, Debbie and the others who take calls and drive the busses are wonderful. They are friendly, helpful and clearly care about kids. My other child takes a different school bus with the same company and all has been well. read more

Left my kid at the bus stop several days in a row. Called them and they said they have a replacement driver and he's learning. They said if it happens again to have my son call them and have the bus turn around. It shouldn't happen in the first place! read more

We used this company for transportation services for our wedding on May 20, 2017. I contacted this company about nine months prior to our wedding. I left a message and never received a call back. Thankfully they still had availability when I called again a few months prior to the wedding. We were quoted a price based on the hours/distance that we needed. We requested that the bus pick our guests up from the main hotel at 4:15 pm and return after the reception. We told all of our guests about this free shuttle so that they could drink at the wedding and/or not have to worry about driving the winding road to our venue. We had multiple guests staying at and carpooling to our hotel in order to use the free shuttle that we booked. However, the bus driver was late and not one guest used the services to our venue. Guests were letting my fiancé know prior to the wedding that the bus had not arrived. Thankfully I did not find out 35 minutes prior to the wedding that the bus was late and no one used it, or I would be even more upset. Because the bus was not there, people had to drive to the venue who had not anticipated doing so. Therefore, less people took the return shuttle back and we could have basically used a family member to shuttle people to-and-from the venue for free. I did find out after the reception that the bus did not pick anyone up before the ceremony. The bus driver was very apologetic and courteous. He explained that he had gone in the wrong entrance and was unable to find anyone to pick up (because they had all already left). The bus was in very nice condition, and the driver was great. The bus driver informed us that we would hear from Lisa about the situation by the time we returned from our honeymoon. We did not, so I called and emailed her. No word. A few days later, I received a call and email from Paul, who I am assuming is Lisa's boss. After much investigation into the situation, we received less than 1/5 of the price we paid as a refund. We appreciated the refund very much. However, it was very disheartening to pay the amount that we did to take a bus with 8 of our guests from our venue in Auburn to our hotel in Auburn. A distance of less than 10 miles. As previously stated, we had less people with us because they all ended up driving to the venue as the bus was not there to pick them up. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this service for transportation needs. read more

Unsatisfied with services! It has been 5 times since the driver pass my at stop.The bus has either been 20 minutes early or 30 minutes late.

So today I had an old bus driver start yelling at me in front of my child throwing his arms up screaming and telling me to get out the way and come over to his bus like he wanted to fight At skyridge school in Auburn which I have no problem giving an old man the business at any time. I walked up to the bus door and told him don't be yelling at me and he just started going off saying a bunch of stupid things! The admin who was on duty heard this and told me not to tell back at him and I told her he talking to me disrespectfully and she said your son is right there? I was like so this old man gets to yell at me and gets away with it yet I have to worry about my son? And she said it's saftey first? Ok how is that when you have some old man pissed off at the world yelling at the top of his lungs at me? Ya that's not safety. How does he treat other kids then? Do the parents know this guy could be potentially bulling there kids on this bus? Why do they hire poor individuals like this when there's so many people who need jobs? Why is garbage like this being allowed around our school system and our kids? There's to many bus drivers in the news today about this type of behavior leading to much worse actions. Yet it's always played lightly until the company comes under scrutiny. I've asked for the video of the bus drivers actions to be able to post it on social media so everyone around can see how the bus drivers are acting so you as parents can see if this is the type of individual you want your kids to be around. Durham school decided I needed to leave a message with there gm and now just seeing how long it takes to hear back from someone to address this. I hope to receive the video soon. If I could give 0 stars I would. Not only are the employees very rude, they lack the people skills it takes to provide good service to parents calling in regards to the most important people in their lives, their children. Durham Busses have been LATE everyday to pick up my children from the bus stop we have utilized their services for over 2 years now and my children have NEVER made it to school before the bell rings, when riding the Durham bus to school. I have complained to no avail. In the years we have had over three different drivers all who seem to have health and anger issues. In the 2 years we have utilized their services the bus my children rode broke down with my children on board over three times, NOT INFORMING THE PARENTS EVEN ONCE. when I would call to ask where the bus was and when to expect it on those said occasions I would get little yo no answers and rude women who act as if answering questions about the busses was a huge burden on them. The start of the new school year 2015 (our third year with Durham)has been NO better. My son's bus has been late again everyday so far. The bus schedule has been corrected twice on the school website, however it is still incorrect. When calling this AM to try and figure out a pick up time that the bus is supposed to be at the stop, I was rudely hug up on three separate times, all three times being told by a manager named LISA and phone operator named MICHELLE that they are having a hard time figuring it out and if I can just wait. Which was fine until the time to catch the bus came rolling around and still no answer. After waiting for the second day now over 32 mins both days for the bus, I was told they would have to get back to me sometime after they figure it out. This is unacceptable. Especially considering that the routes HAVEN'T changed at all in the 6+ years I know Durham Busses have been running out here. I have no choice but to utilize the bus system, because Durham knows they are the ONLY bussing facilities in the area they take advantage of this by NOT keeping any standards. This IS NOT OKAY! I will continue to complain in hopes that my children will get to school on time and have a consistent schedule. THIS IS NOT TO MUCH TO ASK FOR FROM A BUS COMPANY. read more

The driver for bus 49 in the afternoon uses a harsh and unfriendly tone WHENEVER addressing the children. I am told by a Debra (I believe that was the name), that this is because the kids on this route are particularly troublesome. Well, whatever the case truly is, I'VE heard the man and there is nothing responsible in the way he handles his busload. Debra is not helpful, talks over you and basically antagonizes and inflames the situation. I went into the conversation very calming, only informing her this driver seemed to inappropriately raise his voice to the kids. This is not a loud, "Come on guys, we need to get moving!!" I am talking about here. I actually gave this Debra an example of what I heard from him and she told me not to be loud. `` I am changing buses. Opting for the bus that will have my son home about an hour later, just because I do not trust this driver. read more
