New roof w/ Oynx Black shingles.

Darryn was really great to work with and his crew did an excellent job on our new roof and were priced fairly as well. Darryn explained all expectations before and during installation and keep us updated on everything along the way. They completed the full old roof teardown including multiple old layers of underlayment from the previous roof installs that were installed incorrectly. Darryn went above and beyond and had a custom chimney chase cover made to fix our old one as well as had his crew install a solar vent fan, extra bath vent fan exit and did nice booting covers over all the old pipes/vents. They also added a nice ridge venting setup to help with the Texas heat in the attic. They did a good job of cleaning everything up as well which was important to us since we have little kiddos and were concerned about nails and debris being left over. If I needed another roof on a different home I would easily pick Duration again!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. Darryn is very chatty and tries to be friendly to earn your trust until you sign the contract.During contract he is trying to screw you and insurace compay,by adding items to contract and telling you "don't worry insurance will pay this" after insurace refuses he says it is in contract and it is your problem. His crew are incompetent the guy using nail gun goes all around the roof and nail the edgers while nails all are half way driven without noticing( picture). They put starter shingle ON the gutter and create curve at edges so water will accumulate infront of gutters(picture).Darryn act like and talks like he is very experienced but he told me he is doing roofing for just FOUR years. After finishing he never goes to look at the roof and keeps texting "it looks great" unless he wants the money. If you hire this guy either you have to know about roofing OR you need higher inspector to check the delails. I bet none of those guys done thier roof with him never gone on roof or ladder to see the edges.

My husband and I wanted to add solar panels to our roof, and we're so glad we went with 512 Solar…read more They were efficient, responsive, and within budget. We did our installation in 2022 and have seen our energy bills lower than ever before! (We have some shade on our roof so we didn't do the full roof, ~20 panels or so, but it worked out well.) They did the rebate work with the city so our out-of-pocket cost wasn't exorbitant at all. Our household also recently purchased a second electric vehicle so we contacted 512 Solar again, this time for a level 2 charger installation. Once again, 512 Solar was excellent at getting our quote together, suggesting two hardwired chargers that the city does rebates on, and actually getting the work done as well. We have to do the final step with submitting the rebate paperwork to the city, I believe, but that's small beans compared to all the work that JP and Huiyun did for us at the outset. Really happy we went with these folks and will continue to recommend their business!

The sales contact Jane is incredibly responsive and worked many different quotes with me with ease. There was an issue with the critter guard install but they came back out immediately to fix it. My system has been working flawlessly. I definitely think this is the best solar install company in Austin. Definitely get connected with Jane she is the best!

THE OLD - From March 1 to March 22, 2022, with only the original 17 panels you installed in 2017,…read morethe system produced approximately 25 KWH per day.   Over the last 3 years, the approximate average has been that, 25 KWH per day. The original system has been producing about 20-25% less then what we consume per day, on average. Over time we have been under producing by about 10 KWH per day.  Without the additional 4 panels, the system never produced more than 35 KWH per day. With the additional panels, we're hoping that our average daily production will increase from 25 to 35 KWH per day.  That's our target. THE NEW - With the additional 4 panels installed on March 22, 2022, in the last 2 days, March 23,24, we are producing over 40 KWH per day already, which is over the target we were expecting. We know that we will have some low producing days and the average will go down. If the average production per day settles at around the target of 35 KWH, we will be very happy with our investment. At that point, our electric monthly bill will be ZERO! Witch we could do something about the cost of water. Joe, thank you and your crew for a job well done!  Eugenio and Leticia, Austin, Texas

Freedom Power team --…read more THANK YOU! Our system is the best advertisement you -- and Tesla -- could ask for. Our propane-generator neighbors are genuinely envious. There is no comparison. STORM TEST. Tesla installed our original Powerwall last March and Freedom Power added the extension battery this week -- two batteries now. Within hours of finishing, an electrical storm subjected the neighborhood to several hours of brownouts and blackouts. A few grow-lights flickered briefly. None of the clocks needed resetting. No noticeable latency -- Wi-Fi and everything else just stayed up. Except for the lightning and thunderclaps, we hardly noticed the storm. Rate math (FPL RTR-1 Time-of-Use). On-peak grid power runs about 29¢/kWh. Off-peak is about 6-8¢/kWh, and off-peak includes a real credit, not just a smaller charge. PRE-EXTENSION PACK. On our latest bill (1,671 kWh): only 61 kWh on-peak (3.7%) and 1,610 off-peak. The TOU structure saved us roughly $67 (July) versus the same usage with no off-peak credit. Every peak kWh we avoid is worth about 21¢ against off-peak. YESTERDAY'S LOAD TEST. Stove, hairdryer, showers, Instant Pot, TVs, computers, and air conditioning at 77°F -- and we still had 31% battery left at 9 PM, the end of the summer peak window. Under the single Powerwall we often scraped the last two hours and leaked expensive peak kWh. With the second battery, we held the whole peak on reserve with room to spare. When Elon offers vehicle-to-home (V2H) power-sharing in something nicer than the Cybertruck (wife hates the look), we'll add that to the backup stack. Solar roof tiles still feel like overkill for us -- but you've earned enough trust that we might change our minds. I already have one referral in the tunnel. I'll let you know when it lands. Our thanks to Joshua Leathers and the entire team at Freedom Solar Power for their performance and professionalism. God bless, Clark & Jeanne Vero Beach, FL Personable and professional - We cannot recommend him more highly.
