Ms. Maddox was there to greet us at the door on our first day and even gave me a small gift as a token of appreciation. At first my 3 year old was unsure of what to think of her new environment, but she adjusted quickly and has loved her school ever since. What I appreciate most about this school is the level of concern that Ms. Maddox and Ms. Givens show to every family. When we step into the building, every teacher / grandmother volunteer greets us with a warm welcome by name. Most importantly, my child's day is packed with creative, educational activities. There is not a second where the students are left with nothing to do (this was a major concern for me at her previous school, as this creates chaos in the classroom). I also appreciate that the school makes an effort on a regular basis to encourage parental involvement through fun projects and homework assignments. Though she and her classmates are only three and four years old, the teachers still provide advanced-level education that is still age appropriate. Every Wed. the kids take Spanish, and they regularly get science and history lessons, and are expected to stand up and present during Show 'n' Tell. I love the level of detail put into ensuring that my child has a well-rounded learning environment. For example, the students are expected to sign in each day so that they learn to recognize their names. The teachers are also required to read a minimum of two books to the students each day. The kids are provided with fresh cooked, healthy meals each day (not anything from a can or that contains a bunch of sugar). Overall, I love ASOE. I have not had any major concerns with this school's operations. This is the best decision that I could have made for my child and her future.

The owners/operators, I believe, are Morehouse & Spelman alumni and are STRONGLY focused on education and it shows. We were attending parent/teacher meetings there starting when our daughter was about 2 yrs old. At first it seemed like overkill, but by the time she went to public school at 4yrs old she was beginning to read and by the end of her pre-k year, at 4.5 years old, she was the only student in her class that was reading. Now in 2nd grade she takes advanced classes and is reading on a 7th grade level. When our son was born we headed straight back to Kidazzle and never entertained any other option. Almost three years after our daughter left, we were happy to see most of the same faces that cared for our daughter. It was like a family reunion. Turn over is EXTREMELY low compared to other daycares. What I appreciate most about Kidazzle is the curriculum, the mission of the owner/operators and the low turnover rate. Never had a problem with Kidazzle and the annual parent appreciation nights are LEGENDARY!

I arrived unusually early to surprise my daughter to find her crying, her right cheek was tomato red, my two year old told me the teacher hit her in her face. Then we speak to another parent to find similar complaints from their kid. PHYSICAL ABUSE IS UNACCEPTABLE. They neglected to supervise our child on another occassion she hurt her face on the playground. We are fedup with this foolishness and are pulling our child out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY OR RISK HARMING YOUR CHILD. They are incompetent the Director plays politics and is ineffective. The owner is more concerned with enrollment and being financially successful she has multiple locations and hires minimum wage unqualified people to take care of the kids. The staff are always begging for things and follow no professional etiquette or protocol. I called the police they were helpless citing juruisdiction issues. We contacted the State of Georgia they are conducting an investigation of physical abuse. Kidazzle is one Pitiful organization.

Our two sons, who are 1.5 and 3.5 years old, love it, and we are in our 3rd year here. Our teachers are uh-mazing (I get jealous how much my kids sometimes run to their teachers instead of me. Belinda (the atelierista) gets our kids exploring museum worthy art projects (who knew toddlers could do all this?!) and she helps them appreciate and interact with nature. You'll never get the flexibility you get like you do at GPCP. It's more affordable than any other comparable option (my husband does an excel spreadsheet for all things financial). Where else can you pay what we do for as little or as much child care as you need? Only sending your kid for M/W/F but need a random Tuesday for aftercare? Yours!  Every single one of my friends at other "preschools"  (daycares) who have left GPCP have made me really appreciate GPCP. These families usually left because they have the kind of jobs where they just couldn't participate to the level we are required here (neither parent can leave work to do parent helper days for example). Their schools have a lot of great things that I sometimes envy, such as less parent requirements. We do a lot of "parent helper days" and committee meetings. It's safe, nurturing. Like most cooperative non profit schools, they can be a tad more disorganized, and they take off for many holidays and staff development days (either my husband or I have to take work off, or arrange additional childcare, which is a lot of hassle). But believe me, there's a major tradeoff.... What my friends at these other schools all complain about is that they don't really feel like they have any sense of community. They don't know the other parents, kids, or families. They describe a much more transactional, "corporate" feel. And... they all miss GPCP and wish they had the kinds of jobs that were more flexible (or more family support) so they could return. These parents know that they are paying for a child care service, and that they lost the sense of community that came with GPCP. They complain that they don't know the other families and have more of a "hi" and "bye" interaction with most other families (and teachers). Sure, parents there don't have to work nearly as hard as we have to, but psychologically most of us all tend to care more about whatever we've put some sweat equity into. We have hosted many of our GPCP teachers and parents to our (very untidy) house with their kids for playdates, dinner, school camping trips and even some major holidays; we've even vacationed with several families. We really know our fellow GPCP families. Unfortunately, GPCP just isn't built for every child or family, especially for those who are just wanting (or needing) full time, nothing-else-required-of-parents type of child care. Most of us GPCP families are privileged enough to have the option to do something like this school. All of us have at least one family member with the kind of flexibility necessary to participate in this kind of model (we have a lot of entrepreneurs, business owners, freelancers part-timers, or at least some family support (grandparents) to actually have the time and bandwidth to participate as much as we do.  We have created a place that feels more like a home than a "daycare". We GPCP families are also typically cut from a different cloth, and we truly value our "cooperative", very parent-participatory model of early childhood education. We not only get the privilege of watching our children and their friends at school together, we are actively involved and shaping their school environment. I wouldn't have it any other way.

You can walk right into the Executive Directors office or come to a public Board meeting. My son has been at the school since he started walking and he just turned 5. All his best friends are his classmates. He knows all his friends parents because they hang out with him on their Parent Helper day. This is a comfortable and super fun environment with the most lovable educators you've ever seen. The educators believe in child-led so their curriculum is based on what the class is into. However, it is a lot of work on the side. There is some committee work and parent helper days (you work at the school about once a month) but it's more of an opportunity to be more involved in your child's education and development. I highly recommend this school to any parent who loves a granola, community-oriented vibe for their children. It's not only very affordable for childcare but a healthy lunch is also provided with tuition!
