Thank you Dawn for hosting us! The accommodations were wonderful. People don't normally read long posts, so I will shorten up the greatest two day adventure I have ever had. Day one, Ty got us on the pigs quick. My son took a very large hog, Ty's stalking technique's are perfect - sun to the back and wind in our face. This was my son's first hunting experience and he will always remember it. Ty made this happen for him; from stalking to the cooler, Ty guided my son thru every aspect of hunting. An experience that will last a lifetime! Day two, we were looking for Bison. You may think that it is easy, but it's not! Ten hours of tracking and 15 seconds to take a shot is very challenging. Don't let their size fool you; they are quick, quiet, and cover a lot of ground in a very short time. Ty will post video clips of the hunt and you will see!! Ty is a true professional. He was guiding and tracking the whole time with a fractured leg. He never gave up and went well above and beyond what he should have, considering his condition. This is our second trip to this amazing Family run hunting ranch, and once again Dawn and Scotty exceeded our expectations. The ranch diverse landscape is only matched only by the amount of game we saw! The guides are Outstanding and professional and ty put my grandson right on a 350 feral boar hog which he harvested cleanly. We passed dozens of hogs both feral and Russian razor backs which many have lived there entire lives on the ranch. The lodging is immaculate and fully furnished including a cozy wood burning stove which was red hot all day as the highs were only 35! The walk in freezers keep your butchered pork perfect. Here's the thing about the Duntons...once you visit this ranch once you WILL return annually. Whether it is to hunt pigs, rams and exotics on the ranch or to utilize their outfitting and guide services to chase deer, elk and other wild game...you cannot help but fall in love with the place. These are wonderful people. They set the bar so high you need to charter a plane just to see it. Unlike "some places" you never find yourself disappointed at Dunton Ranch, they have everything dialed in and they hunt smart and aggressively. Their success rate is amazing and they support our wounded veterans, helping them get out into the field and hunt...even carrying some of the guys on their back! You will not meet better people in this lifetime. And that's the real take-away here, for all they provide and do for ya...it's the family itself that makes you wanna return time after time. Well...the family and a host of friendly four legged critters on the property. You never know what's gonna greet you in the morning, could be a ole lovable dog or a curious young cow or a silly leaping goat. There are mascots everywhere. I have been coming here for nearly a decade and have seen huge elk, deer, waterfowl, javelina...even an 11 yr old bison on the ranch and never saw a snake once. Dunton Ranch is a short hop from Vegas so next time you're in the area and looking for something fun and unique to do...call Dunton Ranch and do a day hunt. The have everything you need and you don't need a hunting license. Have a backstrap for dinner that night. Oh and if you just happen to be a bow hunter...these are your guys! They are serious archery season enthusiasts and will get you in close. Want a bull elk bugling right in your face? Yeah...call the number and be ready to shoot straight. These folks can call in elk like nobody else. Not into roughing it in a canvas tent in the middle of nowhere? Just want a comfy bed, electricity, hot water, TV and big ranch house to relax in after a day in the field...they have that too. The stories you hear sitting around the fire ring in the evenings are absolutely legend (wait for it) dairy! Cattle ranchers Scotty & Dawn Dunton have seen some amazing and crazy stuff.
