I'm not one to really be writing reviews but I've gone in twice now and have left both time disappointed. Here's why: 1) the staff is really slow and clearly lacks training 2) they never seem to have a full selection on hand 3) the donut holes don't even taste like donuts 4) they kick out incoming customers to close their doors by 9pm only to have all those customers just hop in the drive-thru line bottlenecking the line There was a huuuuge line, I'm talking in-n-out on a Friday night huge when I went and they were still turning people away at the door and to the drive-thru and at that rate it would have been quicker to keep the doors open a little longer. On top of it all, as I'm waiting in line now at the drive thru (mind you it's been 15mins now and I just want a donut #firstworldproblems) I look inside to find one of their employees sitting around in the lobby playing with what looks to be their kid. They were more preoccupied with walking around the lobby, checking themselves out in the reflection, and having a little kid clean the lobby, than helping the long ass line in the drive thru. Not to mention when it was FINALLY my turn, my frustration subsided to order because i get it, the poor drive thru girl must be losing her marbles, but then she tells me their out of GLAZED DONUTS?! How???! And how do they not post up a sign at the drive thru?!?!! Or tell me when they turned me away at the door for trying to walk in at 8:53?!?!! Fine, I ordered donut holes. I get home, only to see they DONT EVEN TASTE LIKE DONUTS!!!! I could have gotten literally the same quality if not better at freakin Walmart. If there is one thing I know in this world it is that Dunkin Donuts has the best hot chocolate in the world. Seriously, it's that good. It is so creamy and delicious and perfectly balanced and I drive over an hour out of my way to get it. The service is also phenomenal and they don't even bare an eye when I roll up 5 minutes before they close asking for that sweet sweet cocoa. I cannot stress enough that you need to try it. Everyone I have introduced to this deliciousness has enjoyed it, hot chocolate is not just for kids and this proves that. It tastes like happiness and snowy winter nights and a warm hug after a bad day. I really love it and I'm happy that there is a location somewhat close to me so that I can enjoy it. I gave this place a 4 because my first time there was good. Iced coffee was bomb!! This reminds me of another restaurant that opened up in Santa Maria and there was so much bad reviews. But I went to this restaurant a month later and it improved so much, the food was awesome. So I believe this for Dunkin Donuts. They probably didn't realize they would be so bzzy. Been through a handful of times now. First few drive thru experiences were long, but to make up for it I found complimentary hash browns in my bag once. Thank you. I am huge fan of the breakfast sandwiches & the cold brew coffee. Drive thru times have improved and I have discovered a love of the blueberry munchkins. Walk in times vary. And during my last visit, my cold brew was mostly milk and a splash of coffee, but I asked for more coffee & problem fixed. I have noticed how sweet the beverages are so I make sure I specify no sweetener or syrup. I like more coffee than milk. I am sure the opposite of what the staff is accustomed. In the drive thru, my cold brew is perfect! Just the right amount of coffee to milk! read more

Waited for over 25 minutes periodically asking staff about an order that was placed about 10 minutes prior to my arrival for a customer who ordered through a pick up service. I was eventually told that these types of orders are not a priority and that their other customers are. They hadn't even started on the order yet. Tried their new location out on a Sunday morning with my daughter and was expecting a plethora of Donuts and only saw 5-6 varieties available????? How hard can it be to yank some sausage out of those plastic bins and wrap that **** up? I have been there twice in the last week. Once I asked for chocolate crullers and got a raised donut with chocolate frosting and today I asked for chocolate donuts that were in a stick and they gave me raised donuts with chocolate frosting. I was so excited that this placed opened in town! I went through drive-thru on a Tuesday afternoon. I ordered 25 blueberry munchkins and 4 other donuts and only 2 of the donuts were what I ordered. I guess it's my fault that I didn't open the box to check. Donuts were dry and I'm not sure if it's because I went around 4pm. Finally able to enjoy Dunkin Donuts here in Santa Maria!! I couldn't of been happier with my coffee and doughnut. The place was jammed packed due to it just opening with patrons which made the wait a little longer than usual but it was to be expected since it was the grand opening of the store. I go to Dunkin' Donuts whenever I can I love their drinks especially the fall drinks. About a week ago an employee was being rude for no reason handing my drink with attitude like she's annoyed with me for ordering. I felt very unwelcome. I haven't gone there for a week. I recently went this morning and the same girl with the same attitude was there. I told her thank you for my drink and have a good day but she just ignore me and closed the window. One star is giving them too much credit. Only one person in front of me and it took 30 minutes for get two drinks I didn't order and two burnt croissants. All I saw was a bunch of employees standing around lost; no one knew were anything was and all they were talking about what schedule they got. I've been going to Dunkin Donuts for more than 20 years and when I told the old lady with a pound of male-up that's not what I ordered she starts to argue with me. Where do I start I understand it's a New place new employees but the service is sub par. The food is horrible for a chain establishment you would think it would be standard no matter which one you went to but not in this caae. I had said that I would like my receipt and when I asked for it she told me she already threw it away, we just stared at each other until one of her coworkers showed her how to reprint the receipt. Update: I added another star after the service I got today from Tina and Brittany. My daughter and I stopped by for a hot chocolate and coffee fix before her first day of school. They both went out of their way to make sure our order was exactly what we wanted. The inside was clean and service was prompt. Thanks, gals! I've been wanting to try their coffee for years, so when the grand opening happened I made sure we started our day here. The line was long due to a technical error on one of their kiosks, but the staff made sure they did their best. We received some samples while we waited and it was obvious that this crew knew how to hustle. Donuts were tasty - the birthday cake was so good - and we had their croissant breakfast sandwich deal. One was missing bacon, but it wasn't the end of the world. I did notice that the menu had better deals than what I ordered which was a small iced coffee, yet a better deal was the $1.99 iced coffee. It would have been cool to have the clerk let me know, but I assume we're both just getting used to the menu. I can see this place thrive and be a fun spot with a great staff as the kinks get worked out. My best tip is to add a tip jar somewhere so folks can show you guys a little appreciation. read more

I am so thrilled that we finally have a Dunkin' Donuts in Santa Maria! It's really hard to read the bad reviews that they have received considering that the quality of their food and service has always been phenomenal since they have opened. I think that many of the complaints stem from the fact that they were unbelievably busy the first couple weeks. I personally saw lines of people out of the store, down the sidewalk and cars packed in the drive-thru. It is hard to expect that the service was going to be as Fast as you want or that they would have the perfect selection when you're dealing with that amount of customers. So before you post a bad review or judge the store based off of the number of stars they currently have, go and give them a try first And then make your own decision. read more

OK, I was excited when Dunkin' opened, but I don't drink coffee (unless it's Peet's) and the donuts are stale. I think they are made at a central bakery and shipped, rather than freshly made on site. The selection is also lacking. I do like that they have a drive-thru and are open late, but I won't be back-- I'd rather buy freshly made donuts and support a local small business! read more

Went here for first time yesterday as my go to place was closed....bought a 1/2 dzn asst and it was almost 9.00...Upon tasting when we got home these were not fresh, kinda hard and stale-ish. We ate 2 that night and next morning others were already hard just tossed them out. I have been trying to order a "create your own" doughnut kit for my daughters. The closest Dunkin is 2 towns away, I went in and they told me I had to special order the kit 24hrs in advance. When I asked the best way to do that, because I really wanted to surprise my kids with a kit, they told me I could call and preorder. Now when I call they say I have to come in to the shop to preorder because I have to prepay... the kit is less than $10 and I offered to pay over the phone or even pay extra, but the workers were not helpful and incredibly unfriendly. My main complaint is that the kit is being advertised all over the place, and it's a holiday weekend... I am sure that the shop could sell a bunch of kits... take payments over the phone, or if I am not there by the pick up time then sell it to someone else... OR at very least make sure all employees know how things need to be preordered... I was assured that I could call in my order by some and got attitude when I tried that by another employee... why does it need to be this difficult?! read more

Staff member asked me if I was there to order something, while I was standing in line behind two other customers, who weren't done placing their orders yet. Completely judgemental, as if I wasn't allowed to be there. I had previously went before, average service, but that current staff member just cost them a customer. My students advised me to try Michelle's or that donut shop at Alvin&Broadway or basically any shop in the north part of Santa Maria - all apparently make better donuts than Dunkin' Donuts. read more

I was excited when I had heard that Dunkin Donuts was opening in Santa Maria, but can officially say that I will no longer be giving this location my business. First off, the donuts are overpriced for what they are. The batter is extremely thick for a donut (which wasn't terrible, but different), and half the time if not more, they don't have the donuts you want available. I decided to give them 3 chances and was thoroughly disappointed each time. The second time I was helped by the store manager, who was almost worse than her employees. I asked which vanilla filled donuts they had, and without even looking she told me they were out. I looked behind her and finally saw a rack that looked like vanilla filled (there were 2 racks, one cake batter, the other powdered), so I mentioned them and she turns around and says "I guess we do have some". Finally, I decided to give the drive thru a shot. I didn't have to wait super long (only 1 car in front of me), but when ordering, they forgot one of my donuts (I ordered two....). I ordered a maple round, and a cake batter vanilla filled. The guy confirmed that I ordered both, I said yes, and he said that he'd have my total at the window. I was suprised when he only asked for $1.25 (I thought maybe a special or a deal of some sorts) so I paid $1.25. When I opened the bag, there was only one donut. I mentioned to him that they forgot one of our donuts, and he said "I don't think we did". I literally handed him the bag back and asked if there were two donuts in there. He said no, and I asked if we had ordered two, and he said yes!! We finally got our last donut which looked like it had been squished and that was it for us and the Santa Maria Dunkin Donuts. I can't wait until Krispy Kreme opens next year! Hopefully they hire a staff that is actually competent. read more
