I contacted Duncan Lewes last week to get help with housing issues. My details were taken and was told that someone would call me back within 24 hours. This didn't happen, and when I called back, I was told that the 24 hours meant 24 working hours, which I found somewhat bizarre. So after 24 working hours, or as normal people would call it, 3 days, still no phone call and when I call again, I was told that the call would be forthcoming, which again turned out not to be the case. I then called again, only to be told that the branch of Duncan Lewes my case had been referred to did not have any housing solicitors which effectively meant that I had been waiting for the last week for a call that was never going to arrive. I was then told that my case would be referred to the Dalston Kingsland branch and that someone would get back to me. It does appear that someone did finally do so as I had a missed call on my phone which a Google search showed as coming from Duncan Lewes. However, no message was left, so I called back again and was told that yet again, someone would call me back. Again, no one did and when I called back and explained how frustrated at their inability to do something as basic as return my call, I was told by the person I spoke to that the reason I hadn't heard back was probably because they are too busy to take on my case and that I should contact the law society in order to find alternative representation. Never in the 44 years I have been alive on this planet have I ever come across such shoddy, unprofessional service.. These people wasted 10 days of my time for no reason other than their gross incompetence and I can honestly say I would sooner entrust my legal representation to a trained chimp. read more
