Nice folks who genuinely appreciate your business. We have only gotten fuel at the boat dock but very easy experience.

It is not wheelchair accessible but works for general mobility issues. My only suggestion is make it more clear that it is a scenic tour, not a narrated tour. Parking is a little difficult to decipher so leave yourself 10-15 minutes to get parked and to the boat. GPS brings you to the wrong lot. Fortunately, Ruth's Chris was not open and parking was loosely enforced. I was traveling with my father who has limited mobility and there was no convenient handicapped parking spots to cut down on the walking. This, however, was the only negative. Once on the ship, the staff was amazing. All seating was assigned and the cabin was comfortable. White table cloths on the table and ice water greeted us. There was a large drink menu with several snack options available. 90 minutes up and down the river with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. You had the ability to walk around the ship and even visit the Captain who would allow you to take the wheel for a moment if you wanted. In a busy tourist city, the was one of the most relaxing experiences and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice activity.

Excellent service and a decent buffet lunch yet the cruise itself was disappointing. Sure, we saw…read moresome water views of the city and bridges, yet we only traveled from the docks near Volunteer Landing to Crescent Bend on the Tennessee River, a distance of approximately 3 miles. About 10 years ago we took the same boat ride and traveled farther down the River. Along the route, a man narrated our short journey pointing out buildings and markers along the way--however, with diners carrying on conversations, background music playing, dishes clanking and the engines roaring, it was difficult to hear even half of what he said. Again, the buffet lunch tasted fine, nothing outstanding, yet the chicken appeared to be seasoned with pepper and maybe a bit of salt. Perhaps a Chicken Piccata with slices of lemon in a creamy sauce or chicken-broth-seasoned sauce would have been more creative. The stewed cinnamon-sugar apples with pastry, served warm in the buffet might have been offered at the end of the food line as a dessert and in a separate dish. Instead, it appeared after the buttery biscuits and before the cold pasta salad with cucumbers and tomatoes and the hot carrots and corn. Overall, perhaps the paddle wheeler is an excellent experience for a first-time rider and a wonderful party venue for special events like weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. Having sailed twice before, this $45 per person ride (there were 4 of us) needed a more clearly-heard narration, a longer ride, and perhaps more creative food. Kudos to the servers, though! Attentive and friendly!

The moment you board, you notice the charm of the boat itself--the big red paddlewheel, the open decks for viewing, and the cozy indoor seating areas. The cruise takes you along the river with great views of downtown Knoxville, the bridges, and the rolling hills beyond. It's especially stunning around sunset when the water glows and the city lights start to come on. Themed options like dinner cruises make the trip even better. The food is solid Southern comfort fare, and live entertainment adds to the festive vibe. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and eager to make the trip enjoyable. What I love most is how it blends history with relaxation. It's not every day you get to ride a paddlewheel boat, and it's such a great activity for families, couples, or groups of friends. If you're visiting Knoxville, the Star of Knoxville Riverboat Cruise is a must-do experience. https://linktr.ee/reessroots

This is my go to Marina on the Tennessee River! Located…read moreabout half way point on the river between Lenoir City and Knoxville. When you are traveling by boat between these two points it's a great stop for Gas, Food, and Gray Water drop. Also A really nice restaurant is just up from the boat landing. The staff here is always courteous and super friendly and if they are there when you pull up they are always lending a hand to get you tied down. They do have some various working hours during the week so you may want to check that before you pull under the bridge to get into the marina. Also during the Holidays they will post special hours. The also post a phone number on the door to a call if you need help. Once you enter under the bridge it's only a few minutes of non wake zone to get there. This location can handle boats of various sizes from Large to small. The marina itself is also pretty big. I have taken both Boats and Jetskis here and they get you filled up fast and back on the water.

However, no where do they tell you that it's a 30 ft double deck pontoon with a 115hp motor and ONLY a 20 gallon gas tank. So from the time you set out on your adventures you get less than 2 hours of actual cruising time at full throttle. Yeah, they dont tell you that. We paid a crap ton for a whole day (9am-6pm) out on the water and spent from 3:30-4:45 anchored waiting for them to get to us. When you inevitably run out of gas they charge $150 to bring you the gas and literally only enough to get you back to the marina. 20 gallon tank and they brought less than 10 gallons but called it 14. The owner of this company is a thief (that was actually said BY AN EMPLOYEE while we were docking)! Highly recommend NOT letting them RIP you off!
