These extensive woods are charming and a lovely place for a stroll. There are paths and the woods stretch right down to a shingle beach. Go off the path and the woods soon become well nigh impenetrable. There are parking spaces and indeed there are picnic tables.
The woods are owned by An Taisce and Irish government agency.
The woods are regularly thinned by An Taisce. There are ash trees and silver birch in galore. There are many rhodedendron bushes too.
