Came here on a rainy day today to pick up some dumplings. This was my first time coming here. Food was not bad but it was annoying to be charged a "take out" fee that was automatically added to my bill. Ordering food that is over $75 for lunch and then having annoying extra fees added leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But the worst part was coming to the car and seeing they hadn't closed the lids properly and all the hot and sour soup had leaked into the plastic bag. Even the vinegar wasn't closed so it leaked into the soup dumplings. Completely disgusted with the service and added garbage fees. I won't be coming back for sure!

Although we drive by here often, this was the first time we've tried this restaurant. We were craving soup dumplings and this one was new to us. Service was excellent! We noted how warmly our server greeted his regular diners. We were seated quickly by a cozy window with a street view and our dumplings came out quickly. They were delicious and hit the spot for us. We ordered both the chicken and pork soup dumplings and really enjoyed the pork ones more. But a favorite for us we're the handmade pan fried pork, shrimp and chive dumplings. We will definitely be back.

BEST SPOT FOR CHINESE COMFORT FOOD. I've gone to all of the similar type of restaurants in the 626 -- Prince Dumpling, Mr. Dragon Noodle House, P P Pop, but Dumpling Tops is my favorite! The owner (I think) who is the asian man is SO sweet and checks in with every table and seems like the kindest soul. Customer service is 10/10. My go to orders are the pork potstickers, green beans, and the spicy beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup is SO good and honestly compares to Din Tai Fung's. Noodles are thin and chewy and beef is so tender. The pork potstickers have the crispiest top and juiciest soup and pork inside. The green beans are also cooked to perfection, seasoned with lots of garlic. Please show this restaurant more love if you're ever in South Pas or the SGV! I love hole in the wall spots like these that are not overhyped. Has such a homey vibe too it inside too and is super super clean. 10/10 spot if you want authentic Chinese comfort food!

I love this dumpling spot...seriously as good as Din Tai Fung and so affordable. All the dumplings are delish and try their fried rice it's so amazing. All in all this is a great local restaurant!

I thought it was nice to have a highly rated Chinese restaurant outside of the typical 626 areas and wanted to check them out. Ordered some takeout for lunch on a Saturday. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The beef noodle soup was super salty. It was so salty that I had to dilute it with hot water; it was otherwise inedible. The spicy pork wontons were wrapped in thick dumpling wrappers instead of the typical thin wonton skins. Very strange and way too thick. I ended up tossing most of it. The scallion pancakes were thin but flavorless. Perhaps they could've used some of that salt in the beef noodle soup. It also lacked a bit of the airiness in a properly fried pancake. The hargow and shumai were decent tho. I would perhaps be happy to see a place like this somewhere like Pittsburgh where legitimate Chinese food is scarce; but, not in the 626 areas

The spicy beef noodle soup is bomb ! The meat is always tender and flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I ordered fried tofu and it came with some chopped chilies to spice it up, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waiter was very attentive and would check on the customers /and make conversations. The restaurant looks clean and has plenty of light coming through the windows.

Was on the 210 freeway and looked up dumplings, this place was recommended and had tons of great reviews so we gave it a try last night! Service was amazing, our servers were kind and continuously checking to see if there was anything we needed. We went closer to their closing time so the restaurant was empty, which at first made me think it wasn't a good sign but luckily the reviews were right and our experience was great as well as the food. Restaurant was clean, restrooms were also very clean. Pork Soup Dumplings 10/10 Spicy Wontons 10/10 Orange Chicken with side of rice 10/10 Cucumber Salad 10/10 Pork shrimp with chive dumplings 10/10 I liked how the soup dumplings were a little smaller than usual which made it a little easier to eat :) Overall very delicious and we will be back

Loved it!! A friend had a birthday party there and it was so good I took my son! Cucumber salad was soooo good! Refreshing and crispy! Beef rolls and beef noodle soup were a hit!! Scallion pancakes weren't bad! Spicy pork dumplings were similar to DTF! Don't sleep on Dumpling Tops! It's worth a try!!

This restaurant is called dumpling tops but I think their noodles are the best dishes to order. I had the lobster tail noodles, which was only $20 a bowl but it has a lobster tail, well-cooked vegetables and a real lot of noodles. The broth was very thick, it's the tonkutsu-style thickness. Noodles are very chewy and yummy. It's better than most noodle places. I had XLB and buns too, but I think they're average. Half of the 8 XLBs I had had their soup leaked onto the steaming plate. The bun's filling was a small portion. The veggie dumplings were quite good, though. It's fresh and delicious. Friendly and very quick service! Good vibes in the afternoon. They have parking at the back on Hope St passing a small alley (not the parking lot on Fair Oaks Ave).

Small Dog Friendly! The main reason we paid a visit to Dumpling Tops was because one of our friends had a dog (who is really well behaved). We had came from a 6 mile run and were starved! Dumpling Tops had a wide variety of Chinese/Taiwanese dishes. The staff were friendly and very accomodating. The noodle dishes were okay. I thought the noodles were a little too soft but the flavor was good. It's more mild and tamed than other places I've tried - but it gives a home cook feel. I think the winning dishes for me were the pan fried pork dumplings and beef roll. They had such a hearty mouth feel and gave a satisfying bite - a mix of crispy, crunchy and chewy texture between the pan fried dough and meaty filling. Definitely a place you should check out if you're in the South Pasadena area.

Interesting, this was sweet

First time here for me, the cucumber salad was sweet but addicting, different than what I'm used to. The spicy beef noodle soup was very good, love the broth. The pork dumplings were good just needed a dipping sauce. Service was good. Love that it's close to home.

I like coming here because it is not usually very crowded, and it is possible that it's because the pricing of the food is usually on the higher end. That being said, the food is reasonably good. The seaweed tofu salad has a nice kick to it. The black pepper beef was cooked well and the seasoning was not overwhelming. The crab fried rice tasted good, but the flavor of the crab was not as prominent. The dumpling was solid, but certainly overpriced for five pieces. The Dan Mein with chicken was a solid dish, but probably could get similar dish at the Chinese restaurant in San Gabriel Valley. Parking is easy, on the street or in the parking lot behind the restaurant. You can also park in the parking lot behind the Jamba Juice, which is located south of the Cordova Street. The servers were excellent, very attentive, extremely friendly, and definitely helpful. Would definitely come back, but knowing that it is on the expensive side. For seven dishes, pretty standard ones, it was approximately $150 after including tax and tip. The ambience was definitely immaculate, very clean restaurant, and the food was pretty solid.

Dan Dan noodles were too mushy for me and it was mainly because of the peanut sauce. I thought the sauce was too dense. The black pepper beef was tender and super flavorful. Restroom score 6/10 - could use more TLC. I would take a dump in there if I had to. I would recommend but for small groups. The space is charming and small - not good for large parties IMO.

Lots of room for more capacity. Staff was nice and attentive. Once order was ready, they brought it to us. It didn't take them very long to make the item. Thank you Miss! Green Onion Pancake was flavorfully good. Not too oily with the perfect amount of crispiness. Definitely a keeper! I haven't dined in at this new location. That said, the dishes are not just about heat... they're layered, aromatic, and incredibly well-balanced. Every dish I've tried has been outstanding, both in flavor and presentation. If you're a fan of bold, authentic flavors and reliable service, this spot is definitely worth visiting. Tip - If you're new to the cuisine, I strongly recommend getting everything MILD spicy. I've been told by some of my colleagues that MILD spicy is still pretty spicy, so be warned. With that said, strongly recommend the dishes below. Lamb with Cumin 11/10 - My favorite dish here by far. Aromatic, flavorful, and the spices are just on point. Dan Dan Noodles 9/10 - Solid and consistently good. The sauce is properly seasoned and truly compliments the perfectly cooked noodles. Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try
