This is a very well known churro spot right in downtown Puebla. Expect lines for dining in or…read moresitdown. We decided to sit down on this weekday evening and we were quickly seated at the last available table. It is a simple fast food like place with menus on the white walls. No ambiance. We ordered 2 orders of churros with hot chocolate, chumprado (corn drink) and chamomile tea. Within minutes, our food was served. The churros were dusted with just right amount of sugar & cinnamon. The outside is crunchy and the inside with just right amount of chew. Paid with any of the drinks, it was prefect snacks or desserts. While they do serve food, I feel like it's an add-on to the menu. Locals & tourists alike come here for the churros. I come back here when craving for churros. Simple but done well.
They make churros fresh. They are really great. This is the best way to enjoy churros.read more

Bummer. This was our first dud of the trip. Looks so cute from the outside near the park, but the…read moreservice was just grumpy and the ordering rules are bizarre. They won't take your order at the actual ice cream counter. You have to order at the register first, which is rough when you don't speak Spanish and can't even point at what you want. The ice cream was good, strawberry and macadamia both solid. But there's a reason there was zero line on a hot Sunday when everywhere else was packed. Skip it. Plenty of better ice cream spots right nearby.

The coffee was good at both places, except here the espresso wasn't very strong for a mocha and tasted like hot chocolate. Additionally, this is a main visitor hub in the area, and they are overwhelmed with business here. Even though they seemed well staffed, I believe there ought to be an occupancy limit. We were here during "Day of the Dead evening" and it was jam packed. People with babies were still here even at 11:30 at night. Yeah, in Mexico I forget how families stay up with children and let them roam at wee hours. Anyhow, the tartlets were good and I had a nice strawberry one with a nice quiche and arugula salad that was very good. The only issue I had, and this has to do with how many people are staffed per capita was that we were double charged for an extra espresso, don't know if someone tried to get on our bill, but they took care of it. I'd like to say that this place had a nice set up, very pretty and maybe during a slow time, don't know when that is, this might be a nice place to hang out while working on your laptop.

No forks were brought with the cake, that was dry. For some reason my husband's sandwich was brought significantly later than my dessert. The sandwich was nothing special. Really the only thing that was good about this place is the view which you can get at other places. Skip it. I wish we had.
