The staff and dancers welcome dancers from all levels and backgrounds. The open houses are worth checking out, so you can see what types of classes you are interested in taking. For now my favorite classes are the Hip Hop classes. I have a feeling as I explore Zenon more that will change. The people take dance seriously, but are also there just to dance and have a good time. The chairs for parents to sit in are disgusting, the floor always has food on it, the tables in the cafeteria are always dirty. To make it worse, they completely ripped us off on his "costumes." He got 2 shirts and a pair of black pants. It costs us $130! The girls in his class got 2 beautiful dresses, and all of the accessories, for the same price. He's completely heartbroken that his "costumes" look like clothes that he already has in his closet, and that he didn't get any of the extras that the girls got. When I tried to talk to someone in the office, I felt like my question was completely ignored.

I found them because I asked a friend who loves dance where the best place was for beginner level hip hop and then grabbed an unlimited membership during a deal. Best choice I've made for my health in 2019. Straightline is a great place to meet new friends, and I do exactly that almost every single time I attend a class. Every class I take is challenging but modifiable. The variety is great. Even though I came for hip hop, I love 305 Fitness (think cardio clubbing), yoga, piloxing (pilates and boxing!!!!!), pilates and barre, YOU NAME IT. The app to sign up the classes is super easy to navigate and gives you an option to add the appointment to your calendar when you sign up. Love that. The studio is also very active on social media and responds to any questions in a timely manner. I am here at least 3 times a week and tell anyone I can how great it is. Join their email list to be in the know for their events and special offerings - worth it even without a 'deal!' This community gives me something to look forward to throughout the day when normally in the winter I'd stay home, holed up in the dark. I'm not saying Straightline is curing my seasonal depression (hello Minnesota winter) but it certainly helps!! The two things that I'd change: the bathrooms are downstairs and there's nowhere to shower after a sweaty class. Literally the only two downfalls of this studio. My (now) wife has a physical disability, and she was nervous about what dance lessons would look like - but the lessons ended up being her favorite part of wedding planning. Eli brought comfort and confidence to both of us, as well as humor and joy! We both truly enjoyed the experience, even though it was a bit out of our comfort zone. Our first dance went off seamlessly - we managed to remember all the steps and it was a hit! For anyone with physical limitations - please be aware that accessing the studio does involve a flight of stairs (there is a railing!). We have no doubt Eli would be willing to explore other options as necessary. Regardless, do not let any physical limitations deter you from taking lessons here!

I know what you're thinkin', 99% of the world does NOT have tattoos and piercings allover their body, and have the foggiest idea what they're doing when the beat starts playing, PaZzaz is one of those types... but I assure you.. i felt completely welcomed and felt part of an elite club. Now for the dancin'... if you're alot overweight I'd maybe go some place else. This place will rock you to your core. You'll leave wondering if your heart has ever beat that hard before. It's face paced. Extremely ALIVE. ANd INTENSE! A month pass is dirt cheap so you can go a few times a week and should be pretty bad a$$ by the end of month on the dance floor. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to keep up with the moves or wouldn't have the stamina. But good news about Nia! The moves are pretty simple and fun. And it is an entertaining, uplifting workout. Definitely gets the chi moving without being over the top too much. Beth is a fantastic Nia instructor! She explains things well and is easy to follow. Beth teaches Nia at a few different places. Highly recommended way to get your dance on.
