I do love seeing restaurants in small towns being restored and rejuvenated. Dudley's Garage offers some pretty delicious food and fun times with the adjacent bowling alley. I have enjoyed their paninis, heard their burgers are delicious, and their calzones like this taco one with all of the traditional Taco ingredients topped with crushed Doritos are handmade and it shows. Everything is excellent about Dudley's! They serve high quality bar food (burgers, wings, etc). Everything is made from scratch and they use beef tallow which adds so much to the taste. I had the wings which they smoke in-house and loved the flavor options (the sweet heat dry rub is amazing)! My husband had the Juicy Lucy and loved it - the owner came over and told us that the meat is a special blend from the local butcher. My father in law is obsessed with the chicken strip basket. The ambiance is great as well - they fixed up an old auto shop and stayed true to the building's origins. It looks like a place we would see back home in Denver. Lastly, but importantly the service... Our waitress was on her 3rd day and did an incredible job, she was very sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. The owner was also there and walked table to table making sure everyone was happy as well. This is such a fun place to visit!! The menu is extra interesting and the food looks delicious! ( we stopped for a drink and enjoyed watching several meals come out of the kitchen. They looked delicious! The place is so eclectic with old car parts, licensee and signs. A very unique place to visit in the middle of southwestern Minnesota ! It was done very tastefully inside. I went when it just opened and it was delicious the waitresses were nice not a problem in fact we would come weekly bc it was so good. Then I went back and it was ehhh. Now we just went back and our waitress was rude and I had asked for a plain burger and she told me it comes with all the toppings just pick them off if you don't want them. My burger was not good and my fries were decent but the ketchup was old. I won't be going back it seems as they cheapened up their menu what was delicious is not the same it's ok. I won't be going back. But I do hear the Hilo is wonderful and I do want to try that out. For a small to town they are lucky to have Dudley's there. read more

I love a small town success story and this place appears to be just that! From what the waitress told me, a successful local entrepreneur invested back into the community to revitalize and rehabilitate the bowling alley and restaurant. The place has got a fun vibe and the food I saw come out looked delicious. I was passing through and only had a drink so can't weigh in on the food but the staff was friendly and attentive. Great food, I have been to this restaurant 5 times now and it is a great experience for the whole family. It's a short 25 minute drive from the Iowa lakes area and well worth the trip. The entire staff worked as a team and the food was prepared fast and well done. I will recommend anyone to go here. The menu is great and I have tried something different every time. One word describes our 2 visits to Dudley's Garage this week....AWESOME! Food & staff was amazing. Went for July 4th brunch and then Tuesday evening supper.
