We wanted a nice bottle of wine, and a trip outside of the Mitte- so we went here. It can take awhile, if the routes are torn up (the google route did not work because of construction on the lines). So I'm not going to give specific directions- but once you find a U-bahn route this is right off the line. The station is decked out in tiles with bacchus and grapes- and look at the light fixtures, they have painted grapes around them too. You'll be asked for a deposit on the wine glasses, so if you don't speak German- don't be freaked out if your bill is 2 Euros more than the wine- that's the deposit on your glasses. You will get it back when you bring the glasses back. We tried many wines- from dry, to half dry to sweet. All were delicious. There are bakeries all around the square- some of them "bio" (organic) and there is an organic grocery store just across the street. Lots of places to eat, too.

When you like to get in contact with the inhabitants of Berlin, I recommend the wine-source at the…read morewestern end of Rüdesheimer Platz in Berlin-Wilmersdorf (Friedenau). There you can sit, drink a glass of wine and eat everything you took with you. In the evening it is difficult to find a place. Lots of people of the neighbourhood like to come here. They put their tables together, decorate them and have dinner with all the eatings they brought with them. The location is open only in the summer months and only till 10 p.m.

Viktoria-Luise-Platz is a charming square on Motzstrasse - with a fountain and seating. When we…read morewandered through, plenty of people were reading books on the lawn of the square. There are also restaurants around the square (or down the streets leading up to the square). I highly recommend picking up some gelato at Viktoria Eis and walking toward and around the square!

A huge areal with different buildings on it. It has about 5 different clubs on it including the Cassiopeia, an Raggea club, a tiny café and the RAW 1&2. They have music from Rock to Electro, Hardcore and Raggea too. On wednesdays its Dub-Wohnzimmer (dub livingroom). Because its a selforganized squatlike place theyre endangered by being bought-offand lose their facilities like so many alternative venues in Berlin these days.
