Only if I could give zero star to this company and avoid it altogether I would.
Unfortunately, living with DSB is a must if you live in Copenhagen area and don't have your own personal transport solution. Honestly, I am all for public transport for the environment and so on but DSB makes me understand why people chose to have cars / go by bike everywhere else if possible.
First, the trains (both regional, Øresund, and S-tog) always have problems. In the winter they say it's because the rails are cold, and in the summer, well of course, it's because they're overheating. Autumn and spring, you say? Why... blame it to the good old "signal problems" somewhere in Østerport station.
Being a commuter who lives in Amager and works in Herlev means that I have to use the s-tog every day, there's no way around it and there's hardly time when they don't have problems, making the trains run every 20-minute or so when it's supposed to run regularly between 5-10 minutes, making everyone' lives miserable. Still, I count my blessing that I don't live further out or on the A-line which is currently (or constantly) under repair and where the passengers are mostly carted off by the togbus?
There was also the time when I lived in Tårnby and had to go to Hellerup every day and therefore had to use the Øresundståget every day. I signed up for the so-called "rejsetidsgaranti" that gave you compensation when the train was late. Good luck with that. I got compensation indeed, in the form of 40-50 kr a month - barely a fraction of what a monthly card would cost.
Nowadays, I take the Øresundståget very much, now that I go to Malmö and other part of Scania quite so often, there was hardly time when everything went smoothly without drama. Thinking of commuting between the bridge? Good luck with that. Once I had to show up at work 1-hour late because the Øresundståget they were going to use for the trip was broken somewhat and blocked the path for the replacement train. We had to wait for them to get rid of the train first before we could drive away, still I counted my blessings at that time because if I had been late for a couple more minutes, I couldn't even go over the bridge because they had electricity problem and had to close down ALL train traffic on the bridge. DSB, fancy calling my boss and tell him why I won't show up for work? Be my guess.
Just last night I was at Höör, Sweden waiting for 20.36 Øresundståget back to Copenhagen airport. When did the train arrive in the end? 21.16. I almost lost hope and thought maybe living in Höör wasn't that bad after all since I gave up hope of ever leaving that town ever (GASP!)
Thinking about flying out of Kastrup from Malmö? Better take the extra early train, for assurance because if the train's cancelled then you're pretty much stranded and missed your plane.
DSB, if I could live without you, I would, but unfortunately I can't- You're like a bad boyfriend that I couldn't get rid of, only the one that I didn't even love in the first place read more
