After a lot of research, I elected to take my 27 year old Sub Mariner Chronograph to D's Time Service. Tom the proprietor was super helpful and friendly. I also spoke with very happy clients in his shop. They claim that his pricing is 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of other typical Rolex certified watchmakers. Mine was due for an overhaul and some re-surfacing and by God, everything came back perfect and she looks new again. Indeed in my case, I paid 1/3 of what I was anticipating. Needed a battery for my Breitling Chronospace and didn't have time wait for Breitling's service which would've taken 6 months at a minimum. Was told that D's watch service had a tech who was Breitling certified. Called and said they could do it as early as today. Went downtown and they went to work on my watch right away. They pressure tested it and even cleaned it! I asked if they could polish my platinum wedding ring and they did it for free and even gave me a discount for first time customer I assumed. Great service and very nice people! All for a reasonable price! Breitling's service was $130, not including shipping and they charged $70 not including the discount. Definitely worth it when you include the cleaning and the free ring polish. Now my watch and ring are nice and shiny. Highly recommend and definitely will come back! read more

What kind of watch do you have again? Timex all the way to Rolex is not a problem, they can take care of you. If you do have a Casio or Timex it will be probably better to get a new one if a simple battery replacement doesn't cut it. Now for the other watch owner, this is the place to go. Tom the owner did say to me that the major jewelers send their work to him so why not cut the middle man and just head over to D's Time Watch Service to save a bucks or even hundreds. I recently brought in one of my vintage watches into the shop to be repaired. The watch needed a litte "extra TLC" since it had not been in use in 25+ years. It needed a new glass dome, cleaning, and wristband. I wanted to have it ready for my niece's birthday, and instead of waiting a week to be repaired, the owner was kind enough to try his best to find replacement parts while I waited. During that time, he meticulously had all of the parts cleaned and dusted, assembled a new crystal glass dome on top of the vintage face plate. Since they didn't have the exact size band in-house, he personally recommended me to one of his contacts within the building for a reasonably priced band. Within minutes, I scored almost an exact replica of the original red band. During my short wait, I watched "D's crew" fix my watch. It seemed as if I stepped back in time, watching these experts work their magic under their magnifying glasses and equipment (think elves in Santa's workshop ;) ). Despite how busy they were, the Owner gave us some educational tips on various types of watches (it must be due to the training he received in Switzerland over the years). Regardless, I appreciated his insight, and it didn't cost much -- but "time" (no pun in tended). I was impressed with the quality, expertise, care, and level of service from "D" and his team. This is the type of business I love to support. My father recently gifted me his gold Rolex president that he hadn't worn in probably 10 years or so. This place is great. They were able to verbally tell my buddy that the watch he recently purchased was not authentic. We used to pay $20 to get watches authenticated, and Tom did it for free in less than 5 minutes. I also had to watches that needed batteries that I couldn't figure out how to change myself. Tom's prices were very fair, and the batteries were changed quickly. I'm glad I met Tom and ran into his shop, as I plan to start going there a lot more.
