The people running this store are rather on the elderly side, but very kind and warm. Between us, we have no language in common, as he says, he speaks "solo portugese". Lol~! But somehow I managed to communicate with them the dates I am to pick up my laundry, via my iPhone calander and pointing to the dates! Lol. And thereby, upon my return, I look forward to continuing to patronize this tiny little laundry store that always greets me with such warmth! Pay cash! They don't do cards! :-))

The hotel's laundry service was like 17r per item and was going to take a whole day, so we needed…read moresomething different. laundry Deluxe is certainly that. You choose your service (fast, slow etc) and the guy gives you detergent and fabric softener, and as you wait for your load to finish (around an 2 hours for the non-rapid service) you sit in the really cool bar area and drink. There's also a terrace out back where you can get food, tables where you can sit and work and charge your phone etc, and the decor is really cool. Quite possibly coolest place I've been in this harsh world we live in. Can't wait to have more laundry to do!

Love the atmosphere, low hum of conversation, white noise from the machines, all the neon, and make it a point to stop in when I'm in the neighborhood for dinner. About as authentic a São Paulo experience as you'll find.
