Besides new wine, we were also able to purchase traditional German foods to accompany the new wine.
I highly recommend the Schmalzbrot... a hearty German bread with a spread of animal fat... sounds gross, but is delicious... imagine bacon drippings on bread.
Also sampled the Flammkuchen, which is a pizza like creation, but without the red sauce.. it has cream cheese and caramelized onions, bacon and herbs on it. You have to try it.
If you're ever in this area, just walk on in an sample wine and food. You won't regret it.
